Who said they WANTED birth control. It might solve a lot of the problems in the world, but just like genocide it doesn't address the real issue. Lift them from poverty and you wont need to worry about "overpopulation" (in many third world countries, ie, not India, less then 3% of land mass is developed) As

lifting them from poverty is easier said than done. and that a long term view . decreasing the birth rate is more immediate or theyll continue to fight for scarce resources.
