Im just starting to learn guitar, so i didn't spend a whole lot of money on an amp or guitar, my amp has an overdrive, but its only a button, no drive or level. Also i only have High and Low, other than that this was helpful to learn all the basics of my amp.
i just want to know can any1 recomend me a guitar, this will be my first electri guitar, anyways i want something not so expensive, ive been looking at squier strat, but i want something a bit better or its ok with that 1?? please some1 answer :)
hay i was just wondering my friend has a destortion petal and my amp is a fender and it has a distortion petal one day we tryed to use his distortion petal on my amp and it din not work is there any reason y?
Hey 'm a beginner just trying to buy a guitar, and I've got to know, does buying an electric guitar come with an amp or is it seperate? Because money's pretty tight around my family and I want to know if I have enough money.
@wrestlingfanman22 there r some starter kits u can buy that come with amps but if u want to know u can buy a cheep guitar and always change the pickups and put in some fender ones if u want just a little tip
Thank you so much!! I'm getting a Hudson guitar pack next week and this will definitely help me on the different sounds on the amp. Liked and faved! :)
Hey, I have a problem. My amplifier only has an overdrive button, gain, tone and volume. I really wanted to buy a cheap amp, thinking it doesn't really matter, but now it doesn't actually help me. I'm just asking if there's anything I can do to get that rock/ heavy metal sound. I have a gibson flying v guitar and a legacy le10d amplifier. I would really appreciate your help.
@tehsilentsoul I don't know because Im buying my first guitar in this month also :D, and Im buying the Epiphone Les Paul Standard. I don't know about custom but I was recommended not to buy the Epiphone Les Paul Special, because it is not that good.
for people having trouble the amp is just as important as the guitar if you dont have a good amp you cant expect good quality and your going to be getting the worst. I would go with a Marshall, Epiphone or Yamaha amp make sure it has all the settings as the amp in the video and you wont go wrong. nice video mate it was very helpful thankyou.
hi! great video! i just have a problem. when i do the amp settings, which it seems like it works perfectly fine for you and others, it just sounds like a variation of an acoustic guitar. the only one that works for me that DOESNT sound like that acoustic guitar thing is the heavy metal, which may be because my gain/overdrive is turned all the way. help? my amp is a pyle m-15. thanks
i have more options like midle high and low, gain, drive, and that hromatic booster (my friend gave me AMP of 150 volume and its so big lol until i don t get my own wich will be ibanez). the problem is hromatic booster can t figure out what dose it do. PLZ TELL ME AND THANK YOU FOR THIS LESSON IT REALLY HELPED
In the first 45 seconds the dude says "guitar input" when he should say output, and "straight up at 5 o'clock" when he should say either at 5 or at 12 o'clock.
Pretty Cool lesson here, Covers the topic quite well. Ive just made a bunch of detailed courses for beginners and advanced guitarists that you might be interested in. Check it out! would love to know what you and anyone watching this video thinks. Its totally free, and i mean TOTALLY
i really like ur video but i have a problem my amp dont has overdrive or gain......but it does have a distortion effect but it doesn't last too long...u know what i mean
@tukun3104 Check out some distortion pedals at your local music store to find one that has the distortion you like. Also, a lot of effects companies have samples on their websites.
@Juankinator Us a pedal. Some amps have a footswitch option that will switch between clean and overdrive channels. You can also use a distortion pedal between your guitar and clean channel, in which case you would not use the amplifier's overdrive channel.
i'm curious. I've been playing guitar on a cheap $80 marshal amp i dont use any settings and i keep the over drive unused. its always on clean so i can plug my line6 pocket pod in for effects. how ever the tone knob does still change the sound. should i leave it in the middle because i always had it at 1 before i watched this videos.
@gerraldd wil lthat mute all sounds from the strings or will it still give like, acoustic sound? ( i dont want anyone in my house having sound problems )
Hello. I've started playing guitar a few months ago. I've started with an acoustic guitar, but now I'm also buying an electric one. How could I improve my speed and my picking? Please help. Thank you
I got an Electric guitar for christmas and it came with this DVD about basic's by "Fender Presents" with Keith Wyatt, after the introduction he goes straight into learning about power cords but he says that he showed how to tune it before hand, which he didn't. The Amp that came with it is an SP-10 by Squier, it has an Input socket, Volume, a button for OD/Clean, treble and bass. He explains the cords in detail but doesn't mention the amp at all, should I be confused or does Amp stuff come later
@solarflare72 Alright thanks! I don't think that DVD is the full length one, which makes me feel like it's just a waste of time watching it when there is video's like this on YouTube and helpful people around such as yourself. Thanks again, I've just got started and I've already been doubting if I can do this or not, but I guess a dream is a dream haha if it takes me till I'm 80 to learn some Buckethead at least I'll be one badass pensioner.
and actually, i pretty much learned how to play guitar from watching loads of "How to play guitar!" videos on youtube...dvd's that come with the guitars are usually useless, since the people put them together in like 10 minutes lol
and chances are, if you want to learn some buckethead, there are tutorials for some of their songs on youtube, just look up "buckethead tutorials" or "how to play ____ by buckethead" and you might find something you can learn from.
I need an advice .. I decided to buy a guitar .. I like the bands like gnr, iron maiden,ac dc,aerosmith .. What shuld i take as my first guitar ? Also it has to be less then 220 euros ..
Ya know what, My amp doesn't have the same things,, , , I am just gonna ask my cousin who has the same guitar & amp, To help me, he can play TONS of songs, these youtube ones aren't helping.

@msternal Hi. I am a novice in terms of electric guitar. This video is really cool and consolidates all information for a beginner. Thanks a lot. I have a question related to my amp. Hi i have a question: Is learnig acoustic guitar chords the same as electric guitar chords because i want to learn to play the electric guitar and i do have one but im learning with a acoustic guitar book. is that right?
@nennii93 Hello, Yes, they are the same. Check out Easy Guitar Chords DVD if you are just starting out. Very inexpensive, but a lot of information to get you playing all kinds of chords and rhythms in every key.
I'm going to buy the randall kh120rhs for 750€ about 985 USD It's called the best amp in that price range for metal. But i want to know if it's good becouse you know a lot about amps and guitars so maybe you can help me out.
@newmoonlake What style music do you want to play and what is your price range? I'll give you a list of suggestions that you can check out at a local music store or online.
@newmoonlake If it was just Classic Rock, I would say the Epiphone Valve Jr. You can crank it up and get some Metal tones, but you will need to add effects eventually. Visit a music store and try a few amps in that price range.

@BlazeTheChronic
you should be confused - the stuff about the amp settings is the thing you need to get sorted out first -
since all amps have different knobs and different names for their knobs, its hard to find a guide.
I suggest playing around with the settings on your amp until you find something vaguely similar to what you want to hear from your guitar.

I got 1 question, If Amp has only 10 watts, is it possible that it has less buttons when yours?
Extremest242 1 year ago
@Extremest242 Not exactly, it all depends on the brand. Most have the same or very similar layout.

what kind of amp do you suggest for beginners
newmoonlake 1 year ago
@newmoonlake What style music do you want to play and what is your price range? I'll give you a list of suggestions that you can check out at a local music store or online.

@msternal I plan on playing metal and classic rock my price range is from $100 to $200
newmoonlake 1 year ago
@newmoonlake If it was just Classic Rock, I would say the Epiphone Valve Jr. You can crank it up and get some Metal tones, but you will need to add effects eventually. Visit a music store and try a few amps in that price range.
