I think that basically he was trying to say that there are things that we are good at but we still dont realize that...by discovering or knowing what are those things, we can focus and spend our energy on the most important things like: improving skills or knowledge we have, learning knew things etc. Sometimes we dont improve ourselves because we cant concentrate on the specific things that can really help us achieve that goal. By elimination, we should focus on the ones that can make us succeed
