  • Should have focused the video on the drumming.

  • @killerj0e I find Purdie much more interesting than the drums.

  • wish i could hear it a little better... the background noise is horrible!!

  • @AustinH234 He actually commented on that at the show. He said so many young drummers think they're good because they can play fast and loud. There were two booths nearby with kids doing exactly that while the master really made drums sing.

  • @glocksout thanks for posting! i completely agree with that statement, he really does make the drums sing, even with the kids playing as fast as they can around him. He's living proof that having really fast chops doesn't necessarily make a really good drummer :)

  • beast

    the best drummer

  • I REALLY like the way Pretty plays the brushes. it grooves so hard. It's rare to find a drummer who can make *MUSIC* on his own.

  • endorsed by sabian but he plays what ever the fuck he wants.

    boss!

  • greetings from istanbul :)

  • drum legend !!

  • @babarislander1 hell yeah!

  • See more of Bernard Purdie on SoulDrummers . com

  • You can bet he was thinking about Brother Ed Thigpen while playing. The legendary Thigpen would ALWAYS be a NAMM's demonstrating brushes and it was sad for everyone to hear that he passed away just a couple days before NAMM. Also solely missed this year was Louie Bellson and Jim Chapin. They also passed away this year.

  • A true legend of our time! Thank you for posting this!
