@otakon17 She does this. Pinkie Pie is prone to making balloon noises--it's come up a fair bit in Season One episodes too, particularly during the Rarity Breakdown scene.

And no other pony on the show has a similar vibe going on--and it's official that she's a different species, her own kind. Weird half-breed? Alien space oddity? Who knows, right? ^_^

An alternative (that's from Greek mythology, which seems a minor thing on the show) would be to have Pinkie Pie be part Proteus, or part shape-shifter. It wouldn't cover everything we've seen her do, but it might start.

It's just....you know, if there's any truth to the scene from "Cutie Mark Chronicles" at all, Pinkie Pie grew up without her mother around (whether she passed on or just left).

That does kind of leave a story to be told, and a way to get some clues about Pinkie Pie. Because clues would help, she's kinda strange.
