@trevorandaj When you pulled the trigger, the entire screen would go black for one frame, and the ducks turned into white squares for that one frame. The Zapper would sense if it hit a dark spot (miss) or a white spot (hit) and score accordingly. This is why you can often shoot at a non-fluorescent light bulb (incandescent) and the Zapper will mistake it for a hit and therefore cheat. R.O.B. used the same idea for his movements. B/c of the way it works, all newer TVs (non CRT TVs) will not work.

I know it's possible, but then it's no fun. I also don't really understand how can one mis in this game, and I'm not some sharpshooter (well, I won a shooting competition when I was 11, but that wasn't a serious sport).

I newer owned NES when I was kid, played it few times at my cousins house. And bought one of my own (OK, not the original, nut a cheap made clone) when I was 30 (nostalgia perhaps 8D ), pretty much because of this game.

Tried to put "gun" up to screen few times, for me personally... it's harder! 8D Because then you must follow ducks with gun and move your whole hand, while aiming from 2-2,5m distance requires only slight wrist movement.

There is a way to cheat on this you know. You see when you fire the gun the whole screen goes dark for a fraction of a second expect for the bird. The gun picks up the light and from then you either get a hit or miss. Heres the way to cheat. Try aiming your gun at a lamp and fire. Hit every time.

Well, it won't work if you have a newer flatscreen tv. This has to do with how the light interacts with the gun. Since tvs don't display pictures the same way as they did 20 years ago it won't work. If you don't have a flatscreen your controller is faulty.

You can't use it on an Flat Screen.

You need to use it on an old boxy Cathode Ray Tube TV.
