If he would have gotten back on the gas when the rear stepped out it would have pulled straight. That's what happens when you think you can drive faster than you're able to and hit the breaks mid corner.

Negative. The car understeered in the turn because he was going to fast. Then he panic braked. You can clearly see him drifting into opposing lanes in the turn. The sudden braking caused the vehicle to snap oversteer and he lost control. So I guess you could argue that it was oversteer too, but ultimately what caused the crash was this guy went into the turn going to fast.

AWD only goes so far, but it makes our confidence in the car overestimate it's real life application. We like to "push" our cars more often than most because we feel safer knowing it is AWD.

I raced my friend's '07 tC in my 1982 Mustang with worn out crappy stock suspension and we went into a sweeping right turn just after we let off going about 70 and I made the turn fine and my friend in the tC (behind me) somehow lost it and went sliding back and forth until the car went sideways into a curb going 30-40 mph and flipped up in the air taking out a tree. The car was totaled. It was cuz he hit his brakes around the turn (lol dumbass) and I coasted around it.

I raced my friend's '07 tC in my 1982 Mustang with worn out crappy stock suspension and we went into a sweeping right turn just after we let off going about 70 and I made the turn fine and my friend in the tC (behind me) somehow lost it and went sliding back and forth until the car went sideways into a curb going 30-40 mph and flipped up in the air taking out a tree. The car was totaled. It was cuz he hit his brakes around the turn (lol dumbass) and I coasted around it.

Good comment trickonight411, that was a perfect appraisal. If you've overcooked it you're always better off leaving the gas on and facing the understeer rather hitting the brakes mid corner.

yeah, im into drivin subes big time. . . but i also ride a suzuki tl 1000r, and had this same thing happen to me when i was on my bike, some jeep came haulin ass around the corner, and i was going the opposit direction, he almost him me in my lane, i almost wiped out, he totally did. . Drive your cars hard, have fun, keep puttin videos out. but remember to watch for us motocyclers!!!! much love, sorry bout the car. . their beautifull machines!!!

I really don't understand how the guy lost control.
We have a road here that is even more intense with twists/curves - and me and my buddies use it for fun driving since it's a one-way.
I've driven my v6 mustang harder through it than that guy was taking that WRX.
Personally having driven a '02 WRX Wagon on it as well, they hug the road just handle so much better than my Mustang I can really open it up.
This guy shouldn't have lost control under those conditions, period
