I'm here to talk about the existence of a brand new musical experience called Idaea. The influence ranges from Planet X, Meshuggah, Dream Theater, Chick Corea to Contemporany and Experimental music. It would be really cool if you visited our myspace and added coments, thoughts and opinions!:
I don't know how the bass and guitar can keep that ostinato going perfectly with virgil going crazy with odd times over top. I would get so fucked if I did it. The Quantum version of this is nuts. I learned the weird shifts in time, but it's one thing to learn it, and something out of this world if he can improvise those changes on the spot, while keeping a perfect ostinato. Now THAT'S some true indepence!
and really didn't want to miss it for anything. This sort video and another one that I've upload in you tube from that night was captured only to remind me this awesome show! and of course sharing it with people like you.
yeah, but I read a sad message from Derek on hes website. They dont earn much moeny from Planen X, plus its not even sure that a new album will be released. "Quantum" was only released becouse Virgil was in some "super-creative" period, and had to release the material. Derek was bizzy with other stuff. The members in Planet X actually "LOOSE money. The money they put in Planet X does not reward it self, and the only thing that makes them keep running the show os becouse they are all ready rich!
Planet X deserve to play at bigger places...not small bars like this. Hope I will ever see them someday here in Sweden!!!
Best, most evolutionary, most talented, most skilled instrumantal band EVER!!!! But offcourse they do comes from another Planet. Sad that more musicians doesn´t travel to Earth and learn us some stuff. lol
I wish Virgil could get 1,000 within Kansas City.

Definitely the best , after MoonBabies I didn't see how they could get any better. But somehow they gave us Quantum, another masterpiece.

Erkan - I can say from experience.. smaller spots are ALOT more fun to play at then big arenas.
