Did it taste good? I prefer eel and that sounds weird to my mom already but horse? And I've heard that the fatty part of tuna is one of the most expensive sushi in japan and it is one of the best. Have you ever tried it? I thing it was called otoro or something like that.
Hey Richard! If you want to eat extremelly good sushi, go to shinagawa, to the sushi restaurant of the Shinagawa Prince Hotel (the hotel is just in front of the station and the restaurant is on floor 38B if I remember well) !
I ate there the Best sushi of my life !!!
It was expensive, true (45 euro the cheapest menu) but it was totally worth it !!!
The fish and even the shrimp were of best quality super fat, it was like melting in your mouth <3
haha I actually just tried that for the first time last night. It was my first night in Fukui where I will be living for the next year! Some people might bash it, but it's no different from eating any other meat, and it's actually very delicious. - I must admit the thought of eating raw meat is going to be difficult to get used to. I'm just glad it's yummy! :p
@cjl5344 It didn't really taste of much really. In general in Japan the fattier the meat the "better" it is (go for cheap yakiniku as it has less fat!) so if it wasn't on the special - and that I wanted to show you guys! - I wouldn't have ordered it really.
Well for those people saying that eating horse is terrible and those who do should die, need to understand that this is another culture. What seems weird to you is completely common in others (vice versa). Its wrong for some of us because horses have been our companions for many years.
Not all sushi is raw. Besides whats the difference between beef and horse? Horse is actually quite nice. Before I was a vegetarian I preferred it over beef.
@rav05pimpin It's one of the regional "specialties" of Kumamoto prefecture and also Gonohe town in Aomori. Other than that you don't see it much. If someone from Kumamoto gets married they'll probably have it on the menu as the representative dish of their home prefecture!
it is REALLY DELICIOUS.

Are you sure not horse mackerel? That's a pretty thick slab of muscle-heavy meat otherwise.

why do the Japanese like things raw so much, and is it weird morally eating horse?
bahamut1080 1 year ago
@bahamut1080 You can't get much fresher than raw! Well, except the restaurants that serve food alive!! (Prawns, fish, squid... octopus even!)
GenkiJapanNet 1 year ago
@GenkiJapanNet
People actually eat animals while they're still alive!?
That'll proably be the fate of Paul the Octopus unless he can predict a way out of there himself lol.
