  • it is REALLY DELICIOUS.

  • Did it taste good? I prefer eel and that sounds weird to my mom already but horse? And I've heard that the fatty part of tuna is one of the most expensive sushi in japan and it is one of the best. Have you ever tried it? I thing it was called otoro or something like that.

  • Hey Richard! If you want to eat extremelly good sushi, go to shinagawa, to the sushi restaurant of the Shinagawa Prince Hotel (the hotel is just in front of the station and the restaurant is on floor 38B if I remember well) !

I ate there the Best sushi of my life !!!

It was expensive, true (45 euro the cheapest menu) but it was totally worth it !!!

The fish and even the shrimp were of best quality super fat, it was like melting in your mouth <3

One advise ! go there !!!

  • was it good? ^_^ Genki desu ka??

  • haha I actually just tried that for the first time last night. It was my first night in Fukui where I will be living for the next year! Some people might bash it, but it's no different from eating any other meat, and it's actually very delicious. - I must admit the thought of eating raw meat is going to be difficult to get used to. I'm just glad it's yummy! :p

  • That looks naaasty.

Vegetarian sushi is way more おいしい!

  • yum sushi^_^

  • Poor Horsey.....

  • Good food at a good price.

    Thumbs up.

  • is horse meet common in Japan. can u describe the taste?

  • @cjl5344 It didn't really taste of much really. In general in Japan the fattier the meat the "better" it is (go for cheap yakiniku as it has less fat!) so if it wasn't on the special - and that I wanted to show you guys! - I wouldn't have ordered it really.

  • Horse burgers are delicious.

  • Are you sure not horse mackerel? That's a pretty thick slab of muscle-heavy meat otherwise.

  • @nokomarie1963 Nope, it's 100% four legged mammal horsey horse!

  • @nokomarie1963 Shocking!

  • i would refuse to eat horse :(

  • Finally a viable use for horses that doesn't involve tophs chasing foxes, gambling or blue blood jumping over fences

  • すしわおいしいです。 i think i said that right :)

  • Do they use one type of fish egg to eat?

  • horse.. =X i couldnt eat a horse T-T

  • o_O

  • I love ramen and everything but this video didnt make me hungry for the for some reason :S

  • I would need the horse meat cooked.

  • Well for those people saying that eating horse is terrible and those who do should die, need to understand that this is another culture. What seems weird to you is completely common in others (vice versa). Its wrong for some of us because horses have been our companions for many years.

  • hello richard have you heard of the satsum\ dialect

  • @TheZono001 Yeah, but it's not very common, mainly just really old people in Satsuma (Kagoshima)

  • I would try every type of sushi , EXCEPT FOR THAT D:

  • I can't believe that raw horse tastes good... or any other meat for that reason... How was it?

  • What's the name of that "orange balls mix" looking sushi on your right?

  • @MaximTheBeast That's ikura, fish eggs, quite nice!

  • Sounds delicious

  • does it taste like chicken? lol it looks good

  • @KILLERZ0000 Nah, sashimi chicken tastes like chicken! (Yep, we have that as well!)

  • So how did it taste?

  • I thought Kuma is bear.

  • @kuraza123 It's the same kuma! Nearly all place names have meanings.

  • @GenkiJapanNet

    is it uma!!!

    or KUMA!!!!

from what i learned its uma....

    RIGHT!?!?!?!?!?

    DAM MY JAPANESE KNOWLEDGE!!!!

  • @iliveatseven11 The horse is "uma", the "kuma" from Kumamoto is "bear". Sorry for the confusion!

  • @kuraza123 he said "uma" not "kuma," close though :)

  • Nothing wrong with horse meat...even better when it is on sushi :-)

  • Sounds kind of.... Good actually.

  • why do the Japanese like things raw so much, and is it weird morally eating horse?

  • @bahamut1080 You can't get much fresher than raw! Well, except the restaurants that serve food alive!! (Prawns, fish, squid... octopus even!)

  • @GenkiJapanNet

People actually eat animals while they're still alive!?

That'll proably be the fate of Paul the Octopus unless he can predict a way out of there himself lol.

  • @bahamut1080

Not all sushi is raw. Besides whats the difference between beef and horse? Horse is actually quite nice. Before I was a vegetarian I preferred it over beef.

  • Raw horse meat?

I hate to say it but I think the restaurant owner's messing with you!

  • is this very common throughout japan?

  • @rav05pimpin It's one of the regional "specialties" of Kumamoto prefecture and also Gonohe town in Aomori. Other than that you don't see it much. If someone from Kumamoto gets married they'll probably have it on the menu as the representative dish of their home prefecture!

  • 外国人は日本人が馬を食べることをどう思いますか?動物愛護団体から攻撃されそうですね・・;おーこわ(怖)

How do foreigner think about the Japanese eating horse? It seems to be attacked by animal protection association.I`m scary X<

  • @gtoyas They eat them in France!

  • So, how was it, anyways?

  • @TMNWG Quite nice, for raw ....... meat!
