I am about to buy the 20L Braumeister, however I am concerned about it's bias towards lower gravity beers given the limits associated with the max grain bill. What has your experience been? e.g., max ABV, efficiency, etc.
@Mrkramsify I would say you could easily do a 1.065 based on what I am reading over at Home Brew Talk dot com.So far I have made 5% to 6.5% ABV Pale Ales. I have been very pleased with the flavor, clarity and aroma of these beers. I m drinking a Stumpknocker Pale Ale clone from Swamphead Brewery out of Gainesville Florida made on this system at the moment. It is very nice also.
I appreciate you taking the time to document this. It was informative and gave me a good idea on the operation of the equipment. I am looking to purchase the 20L in a few months. Just curious, Is it easy to customize the mash/boil settings through the keypad or is it a pain. Also, do you have a lot of issues with the pumps clogging, or do they chug along pretty good?
Great set of vids! Thanks for going through the whole process including the cleaning. What software are you using on your mac for the brew sessions? How did the batch ferment? Did you make a 220 V extension cord? Did you use the 220 V fitting that came with the Brewmaster or use some US standard fitttings?
@plrknb Thanks! I am using BeerTools Pro software. The batch is a week old now and seems to have fermented well. I did not make an extension cord. I have an outlet nearby that I use. I had it installed a while back when I was thinking of going all electric with my old system. Yes, I cut the European style plug off and rewired a new plug onto it.
@Crypticx666 yes, it was pretty close to 3 grand US. BUT.... after one brew, if it holds up, which it should based on Speidels reputation, I am well pleased with the money spent considering a long healthyrelationship with Speidel!

@jstelley23 Yes the settings are very easy. Pumps have not clogged at all yet. I have used it four times now.
