Nice guy. I met Mars in 1989 at The Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles. My band at that time, The Trip, a local 60's Tribute Act, were booked to open up The 20th Anniversary of The Summer Of Love Tour which featured The Seeds, The Strawberry Alarm Clock, Big Brother and The Holding Company, Arthur Lee and Love and The Music Machine. We did an encore of Give Peace A Chance. Mars came up to me, introduced himself and nicely asked if I would play his Fender Bass, as he didn't know the song. Cool
