The words to this song are completely biblical and are all directed to Jesus Christ. The chords are very simple, I'm confused why people who love Christ couldn't even like this? The Everlasting = Jesus = Amazing!
As a song-writer/singer, I am offended by the nerve and audacity to generalize and call all musicians "fickle" and then justify it by saying they know because they are one. The idea is (and I'm speaking for Mac, Mark, Chris Tomlin, and every other professional out there) is to write and record a song that can be used in worship by the "average" musician out there. If a song isn't accessible to the common player, there is no way you are going to worship through playing the song.
Hey it is 100% either an epiphone or gibson its is def one fo the two he bridge and the scratch plate is very distinctive. yea i was wondering im not trying to offend anyone but why do worship leaders need such expensive guitars for the purposes they need them for they only use like 4 chords alot of the time?
They are musicians, and musicians are very picky with the type of sound that they want. In order to get a nice sounding guitar you have to fork over the bucks. No different from secular musicians, the majority of their songs are 4 chords. Musicians are fickle. I know because I am one. And I am a worship leader, and most songs are 4 chords, but not all.
first of all this song is great and these guys are great for making their song so accessible...I've been playing guitar for a while now helping out with worship at my church and the number of chords dont matter it's kinda the sound you're going for...obviously your more expensive guitars are gonna play nicer generally with music you get what you pay for but he's playing an epiphone for sure which is always a great guitar for your money
Get outta here~ As if ONLY worship leaders use only 4 chords. Try MANY artists who are Christian and not. What is wrong with praising the Lord with a nice interest. They make their living making music. Why should they NOT have a nice guitar???? Give me a break.
After watching this video, I see that there are definitely more then FOUR chords. There is a I, ii, iii, IV, V, vi, and VI. SEVEN CHORDS!!! Count em!!! 7!
I think that the more simple the guitar chords are, the more of my concentration can go to worshiping the lord. I'm sure He enjoys the guitar playing, but it's really all about the singing. Am I right?
@stonefry It's really all about HIM, not chords, music, style or singing and I believe it is a heart condition and if your whole heart is in the praise, then it is an acceptable offering to our God.
really like that song:) as sad as it may seem i also watch these videos to see what guitars the different writers play:P I have to say almost everyone has their £2-£4k guitars but he is playing an epiphone!!! Much more of an affordable guitar:)
Hey! You can tell by the headstock, ive seen alot of examples like this. The gibson has a smaller inward curve on the thinner headstock. I think its the EJ-200 cutaway version. It still sounds nice. Ive seen him play his vintage epiphone live almost every time.:)If its good for Paul McCartney its good for him:)
Nice, amazing, this band rocks.

it's kind of sad that people are arguing about instruments rather than contemplating this beautfiul song.
