I will never forget one time at Hartford Civic Center Bill Kreutzman was gently playing some cymbols, then suddenly Mickey comes out from hiding and hits this LARGE gong that ROCCCCCCCKKKKKS the whole coliseium. AWESOME!!!!

Hart is grossly over rated as a drummer - very ,very simplistic in his playing.He thinks he is really all that and a bag of chips.Plenty of journeyman drummers out there could blow Hart's doors off. the name of that drum is Dundun, its an african percussion instrument, made out of cow skin it comes in a set of three drums of which the smallest is called the kenkeni, the middle sized a sangban and the largest a dundun also accompanied with a bell as seen in the video

You were given the wrong name.

It is a Tamma or Talking Drum (the name he used in the clip). It is an hourglass shaped drum. Check Wikipedia.

A Dundun is much too heavy to play in that fashion just check the Dundun picture in Wikipedia.
