    HOPE THIS WORKS ;)

  • lol so random

    watch?v=pXce8Xvyumc

  • see what the sonoma county free press or the bohemian grove action network have to say about mickey. All of whom are "hippies" that should "love" mickey. Things are definately not as they seem.

  • @timetohuntowls who cares what they "Say" about Mickey---all you need to know is hear him play dude....MIckey is his own man....bohemian grove action network? Sounds like an oxymoron no? a PAC? give it a rest man...sad..

  • mickey may be a GREAT drummer, but hes also a member of bohemian grove and camps out with chenney, bush and the nwo. He ran mind control experiments through the acid tests when they were the warlocks with direct dark connections through kesey to the see i aye.

  • @timetohuntowls ?!!! I just enjoy the rhythmic pattering on my soul brought about by this video. Why do you have to bring politics into it? ::fact checking mickey hart + sea eye aye:: cite source please owl hunter, Hart's Planet Drum is a huge inspiration for me and single-handedly introduced me to Zakir Hussain... why should I not trust him? (although the "christianmingledotcom" ad is explanation enough...)

  • @timetohuntowls pure unadulterated disinfo--what are you some mole from the Stanford Research institute--Kesey and Mick are right wingers-lol-he played a benefit for Obama with the Dead Bozo the clown..

  • Not only are these guys like drum gods, but seem like such great people. One of my favorite parts is when Giovanni smiles @ 7:00, then goes from the smile to the get off face. haha Not sure how recent this is, but 5 starz

  • @MasonDdrummer that is the great GREAT Zakir Hussain

  • what is the name of the guy with frizzy hair who does the vocals?

  • I will never forget one time at Hartford Civic Center Bill Kreutzman was gently playing some cymbols, then suddenly Mickey comes out from hiding and hits this LARGE gong that ROCCCCCCCKKKKKS the whole coliseium. AWESOME!!!!

  • @neanderpaul14 think I WAS THERE--WAS IT IN 1987?

  • i really like adverts, i think they really enhance videos.

    LOL jk

  • @diabl2master mickey likes when youre fed ads along with his rythmic drumming, it helps them sink in deeper...I REALLY hate to say it but, hes just a nwo shill.

  • I would love to drum with Mickey... Maybe more than I want to jam with Furthur... Maybe. This would be more of a spiritual experience for me.

  • absolutely brilliant

  • Any percussion project is super, nothing is as powerful as drums, the heartbeat of all...Thank you Mickey...great

  • brilliant!!!!

  • Mickey, Thank you - thank you - thank you... I'm a guitarist but you've said in the 1st few minutes of this film what I've been trying to put into words my entire life. Again, thank you... Vinny Stefanelli

  • Holy motherfucker.

  • Simply breathtaking love it!

  • Good short documentary on Global Drum Project. Latter half of the program is just live performance which starts at 6:51. There is an interesting call and response between different drum traditions.

  • pulsars are sweet

  • Was turned on to Mickey with the Apocalypse Now Sessions. Been mesmerized by his works since.

  • Talking drum was coolest IMO.

  • Thank you for creating again Mickey, PLEASE keep playing, you and those you bring with you are all quite bloody brilliant!

  • 10,000 virgins?!?

  • Who has 10000 virgins?

  • @AnkhAndAton not you!

  • @muddack For sure

  • @amies7143 I'd be happy with just one...

  • @amies7143 72 or 10,000? Point is Mickey locked himself away in some tree house or bungalow in woods for a year and did nothing but bang drums, kettles, pans, walls...he is like a monk/drummer/savant...a billion dollars a day and all the women in the world can not seduce him as can music....and drumming on the edge of reality (his book)..

  • Caught these guys in Lansing MI a couple years ago...unreal show....do NOT miss them if they come to your town. :)

    Music is love....

  • This is what I'm looking for.

An art can be perfectly delivered by true artists.

    Completely torn apart.

  • "being an artist... changing a feeling into a form..."

  • MrSally thinks being a musician is about athletics. It's about soul, depth, wonder, joy, exploration, all of which Mickey is a master of. The Grateful Dead made mistakes all the time, such as Jerry forgetting lyrics, yet Jerry's acoustic music and Mickey's percussion solo work make me happier than any technical drum jock could.

  • the universt is look at us lol's

  • oh? ok mmm lol's

  • Wow--I'm amazed at the comments--my husband is a deadhead and thinks MH is one of the best drummers..(next to Bill Kreutzman).as for me, once I've seen during his Planet Drum tour--I was floored on how really good percussion can do wonders for your soul!

  • I think Mickey is on the edge of drumming, with others. What an art! I love you Mickey and the musicale energy through a heart beat and a vast stick in hand life.

  • You haters need a check up from the neck up....sure there are better "Rock" drummers than Mickey Hart, but he composes these pieces. Show me a highschooler that could do this...

  • ¡¡¡¡¡MAFEREFÚN CHANGÓ!!!!!

  • FAB.

  • drumming is about feel. its not about "blowing someone's doors off", but rather a communal sensation found when you fill the gaps. space and repetition are equally as important as playing in some ridiculous time signature

  • Increiblemente Maravillosos!!!.

  • What a shame you cannot appreciate this Mr. Sally! This group is recognized around the world, and respected by so many. Noise? Maybe organized chaos, maybe the purity of only using drums for harmony/melody/bass is to complex for you to grasp. Fortunately those from around the world and of many different cultures are able to appreciate and enjoy what you seem unable to understand.

  • I cab appreciate the musicians big time -the only point I was trying to make is that at best Mickey Hart is ridiculously overrated - he's a terrible drummer and has always been one.

  • if by terrible drummer you mean worlds better than you, preformed for hundreds of millions of people then yes.

  • haha, i know who just says mickey harts a terrible drummer..

  • I pity your lack of depth.

  • well he is mickey hart - and zkir hussain is .. well Zakir.. and you are? some nome de plume on youtube with a snidey comment, which to be honest.. got flamed..

  • Sorry there Inkybinky ( nice name) I saw Mickey Hart several times with the dead and I think he's one of the most over rated drummers out there. Tough shit if you don't agree

  • its not if i agree or not.... its your comment is just plain whack out of tune with the truth... // as for with the dead... why did you go back several time? I thinks you are just a pindrop.. not even an echo resonates from you... whereas hart and hussain resonate wildly..

  • the knowledge he has for drums and music is beyond what you could imagine no matter what he plays at one point.

  • you obviously know nothing about music or Mickey to make that statement. Do you think that Hussein would bother playing with Mickey if he was not well respected or knowledgeable about music? You are an idiot.

  • The musicians in the video are fantastic with the exception of Mickey Hart, I know drummers in marching bands that are far better than him. Also I urge everyone here to go view your profile .....is that you in that picture. You represent the drag queens well.

  • the life without rhythm is nothing.. without music more less..

  • These people are great, translating the languange of rhythm.

  • ZakirHussain is sheer genius...

  • @rudresh as is Mr. Hart and his colleague Mr. Kreutzmann and this little guitarist who used to join them-err um Garcia? was it?

  • Great album, but a little on the short side.

  • crazy

  • Just beautiful!Giovanni looks like a kid on the first day of Xmas.

  • one of the best thirteen minutes of my life..incredible truly incredible!

  • Inspiring is a great word. The drum over his shoulder is amazing. Anybody get the name of that drum?

  • the name of that drum is Dundun, its an african percussion instrument, made out of cow skin it comes in a set of three drums of which the smallest is called the kenkeni, the middle sized a sangban and the largest a dundun also accompanied with a bell as seen in the video

  • Thank you very much for that information

  • You were given the wrong name.

It is a Tamma or Talking Drum (the name he used in the clip). It is an hourglass shaped drum. Check Wikipedia.

A Dundun is much too heavy to play in that fashion just check the Dundun picture in Wikipedia.

  • awe inspiring

  • Amazing dedication and talent!

Anyone who lives and breathes music the way these men do, help to make the world a better, more beautiful place.

  • damn awesome ;)

  • 5 rate with out any problem

  • the one that says "mike portnoy" could do this with one hand. it's like saying "my computer printer can make a painting 1,000 x faster and more realistically than Picasso".

  • BBC is way better!

  • Nice sounds... :D

  • you have to love making music, to make music. I think the same goes for any art form that you take to the level of an art form

  • good luck... great project!!!

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • cunt`s..................

  • the absolute dumbest comment i have ever read.

  • Which one are you refering to?

  • Comment removed

  • 13 mins of hevan

  • amazing :)

  • unbelievable stuff

  • Drumming is the language of peace, unless you're drumming on human skulls, then maybe not as much.

  • AWESOME MUSIC ....... when is this album coming out any idea....

  • then what defines a musician?

  • this is some insane music :D

  • Giovanni Hidalgo is the man

  • Zakir Hussien is a GOD! if anyone has the chance to him live!! DO NOT MISS THE OPPORTUNITY!!

  • Bits near the beginning sounded a little like Kodo.

  • Wow, that`s amazing! Thanks Topaz38 for sharing!

  • I listen to music.

  • this is great!!!!

  • What a great video, thanks for this !

  • Silence Slave no talkings in the night times when the creatures with the claws climb up the trees to kill the little animals.

  • You know why Joey Use Mask? because Hes Face Would burn if not while Drumming!:)

  • th|eres that theory or he could just be a fag that thinks that if he plays simple beats at ten times the speed hes a great drummer great drummers need groove

  • pretty neatO, thanks!

  • Not what I expected after so many vids on animals, but interesting enough. At 8:30, it is fascinating, the exchange between drums and spoken percussion.

  • ne echt jetzt sehr interesant
