There have been studies that prove that people that believe in EXTERNAL INFLUENCES are less intelligent than logcical thinkers. I will take those studies seriously. In all seriousness, Prager Happiness hour is interesting radio, but it does show his bias toward the right and than I have to question why he even has this happiness hour.
I think he has the Happiness Hour for two main reasons. The issue of happiness has always been important to him. That's why he wrote a book on happiness about 15 years ago. He truly believes that we all have a moral obligation to at least act - if not be - as happy as possible for the sake of others. The more practical reason that he has The Happiness Hour is because of how popular it is with his listeners.
The Happiness Hour was his first dedicated Hour. At this point in time he has 2 other dedicated hours - The Ultimate Issues Hour (on Tuesdays), and The Male-Female Hour (on Wednesdays).
I love how folks left of center like to self-congratulate for being too smart to be happy.
"believe in EXTERNAL INFLUENCES are less intelligent"
The common mistake thinking that merely because the religious benefit most directly that it is limited to religious thought. The point is simply stop being a selfish person.
"it does show his bias toward the right"
Sounds like a Freudian admission that the left is less happy. Yes, that's true, and thanks for the compliment, albeit backhanded.
Because he believes it's good to spend time, to help people find ways to be happy in their lives...And that applies to everyone, we're all human, aren't we?
I believe that you're the one with the agenda, and that you're projecting regarding your analysis of Prager. Studies have shown that conservatives (and especially religious conservatives) do tend to be happier than liberals.
Of course, that qualifies as a generalization - there are always exceptions. Perhaps you're one of them.
Now Now . You do not sound too happy to me ,calling me a moron . My only point was is that to stereotype one side of the political aisle as unhappier than another , shows me that Prager has an agenda. Religious right are just as unhappy as the far left Peta folks. That is my point. At least I can be objective.
Everything Prager says is perfectly consistent with all that he wrote many years ago in "Think A Second Time," and in "Happiness Is A Serious Problem."
Prior to the mid-nineteen eighties, Prager was a Democrat. He still considers himself to be a "JFK Liberal."
Not all liberals I meet are unhappy by any means. But the ones I hear on talk radio and TV come across as bitter, resentful, and replete with ad hominem attacks.
Dennis Prager is a liar and fraud. He says left is unhappy and more miserable than right. Has he ever heard of Michael Savage, Bill O'Reilly, Sean and Rush. Talk about being miserable. Not only that right wing wants to push their religious values on everyone. I liked his happiness hour now I do not. He is further pushing his right wing agenda. Oh well , now I wont even listen to that. Back to sports talk.
I really like this song (The Happiness Hour) I have never heard it. I just happened to run right in to it well looking for the song. (Bubbles in the wine) By (The Lawrece Welk Show)
What a fraud . I like his Happiness Hour but the guy is miserable. If Mr. Prager is truly happy why does he care who gets married to whom. He has to relax and not be so hateful to gays, dems or others .
I am held hostage to right wing radio because of the fact that when I work there is not much to listen too. I will usually resort to sports or an occasional talk show on NPR. I will say this. I am probably one of the few dems that enjoy the happiness hour by Mr. Prager.
You're kidding, right? Forget about the singing, have you bothered to considered the LYRICS?!?!?! How about a little gratitude for the fact that you can hear the lyrics? It's a playful rendition that makes me want to play along. And, I feel perfectly 'moral' in doing so!
the very worst part of Dennis Prager's radio show is when he insists on singing this song. He has a TERRIBLE singing voice. Far worse, he could not care less that he is adversely affecting others when he so badly sings this. It is as if all the morals he talks about, is thrown out when it comes to engaging in his own narcissistic behavior
I really enjoy it when he sings; whether in tune or out of tune. For someone to be so authentically happy is a blessing that some people never find in their life time.
the only reason why Dennis Prager insists on singing along with that song in such a loud, obnoxious, and out-of-tune way, is because he gets pleasure out of making both his employees and his audience suffer. dennis prager is a narcicistic, self-centered baby. if you do not believe me, just listen to his radio show, how he talks about himself virtually non-stop, as if the whole world revolves around him and him alone
Its funny because I always try to time my lunch trip at 12:06 on fridays when the song starts playing so I can hear it. I sing it as badly as Dennis does, but its fun. :)
This is a Great Adaptation to the original instrumental called apples and bananas...BY the way...WHY was apples and bananas removed?
it's such a good instrumental.. I haven't heen able to hear it because it was removed from this website... WHY was it REMOVED ??CAN SOMEONE WHO KNOW HOW have it PUT BACK on the WEBSITE...!! PLEASE...
this is a great rendition of the ORIGINAL music score... WHERE IS THE ORIGINAL INSTRUMENTAL called apples and bananas? Why was it removed... can anyone who knows how to have it put back on the website PLEASE DO SO AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.... I MISS IT..!!
Dennis should have said the "Yes it is!" line. We who listen to him each Friday are so used to hearing his voice singing "Happy, happy" etc. it would have been great to hear him on this one.
I met him here in San Francisco, and sat behind Eva and Borris during their visit. This is awesome! Upload it to MySpace so I can add it as my profile song!
Yeah. It was really a thrill to meet him. If you've never been to a talk that Dennis has given, you really ought to.
Extremely personable, and gigantically tall, he is everything you imagine him to be from listening to his show, and much, much more.
Aside from the sort of common sense, clarifying speech that one would expect to hear from Dennis, he managed to earn the kind of belly laughs that one would expect to hear only in a comedy club.
I'll bet it was exciting. Someday I will see him live, I am sure! I always said Prager is my pick to be in the seat next to me in first class on a long flight! Well, if he is talkative!
I know he is very tall, and he is a good guy. I managed to call in on his show once and he was so nice.
It made our day! My 10 and 7 years olds loved it as well. We all sang along with the lyrics. Although, they noticed the word "crappy". What are you going to do, they're boys.
I heard it here in Louisville. Great fun! Could you post the lyrics in the "About this video" area? I'd like to write an ukulele version of it. Do you know the chords?

Prager and I are the same age. This country is a completely different country than the one we grew up in. And that's not a good thing in my opinion.

"My only point was is that to stereotype one side of the political aisle as unhappier than another"
That's not a mere stereotype. It's a measurable fact.
"At least I can be objective."
You mean factually wrong?
One doesn't have to be unhappy to recognize that as uttering such pap being moronic.
Listen to more Happiness Hours, for the sake of those around you. Please.

And you must be a moron. First of all, he's often talked about Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, as well as Michael Wiener (aka Savage).
Secondly, the "right wing" has never pushed their own beliefs on anyone. The left wing, on the other hand, does it all the time.

I think the point isn't that he sings good. The point is he's so happy he must sing DESPITE not singing good.
That's a powerful message for happiness, not singing.
