His name is Yan Kuan or Kevin Yan in English... and I'm not sure whether he would play the bad guy here, because according to the original book's plot line he is not, and is a friend of the main character Yang Fan (here played by Nicholas Tse).

It's just depressing that he played so many bad guy type of character... hopefully this time his character would not die a dreadful death.
