@0henrick0 Most believe if you put the bird on his back & feel the pelvic bone-if it is very close together, then it's a boy. If further apart-girl.This method is not always reliable. I use the pendulum method. Tie a thread or a thin cord to a ring-maybe a wedding ring-I use a small keyring about the size of a quarter.Hold bird on his back & suspend ring over pelvic area & hold as still as possible-It will begin to swing.If it swings in a circle-girl/if it swings back & forth-boy.Works for me.

@0henrick0 The pendulum does not work for anyone.When I first learned of it, I tried it on my birds w/known sex-had 20 budgies.It was always right.I had a bird that everyone, including it's breeder, said was a boy.My ring said 'girl' & confirmed it by laying an egg! When I said it doesn't work for everyone, I mean it just doesn't do anything.Don't know why.Someone suggested that it may have something to do w/magnetic fields.Doesn't work for my friends-I do it for them.All I know-it works me.

I have a black capped & a maroon bellied conure. They are very smart & not too loud. They need daily attention or they can become nippy. Wow,isn't a talking Sun rare ? I have a 4 year old male named KiWi and I try my hardest for him to start talking.He grunts when I talk to him.Maybe he is trying.Then I have a peach front conure that doesn't talk either but their is a lady on utube that has a talking peach named Pixie.Check him out.He say's Good Morning but it's funny how he say's it. @KrazyKurd05 That's because you don't take the time to show him/her.You have to spend time teaching them what you want them to say.Birds are very smart, but if you want one to say something,and it has the ability to talk,you have to spend time.In the morning when you feed him/her,pick a word or phrase and say it to them over and over again every day until they get it.It takers time and patience.It won't be a immediate thing.

He's one of the better sun talkers. Mine talks pretty well, and she's only 8 months. She started at about 3.5 months. I suppose those that start early on turn out to be good talkers.

O'Hanah is a girl so she doesn't talk so much. maybe 10 words. Shes still a blast to play with. Shes 5 years old and it went so fast.

the sun conure its a pleasant bird i remember when i had mine we got it when it was a teen i don't know the real term used it took about three weeks to get used to it's owners before that it wanted to pinch us but later on our sun conure flew onto our shoulders and if ou talk to it a whole lot it will start to talk to you back and it mostly favorited food was sunflower seeds i most shure that yours will to love sunflower seeds and other fruits

This is where you always need positiveness.Look at BirdTips account on youtube they have a great guide.You build trust.you ALWAYS want to be positive with your bird.If it attempts to bight you say "no" or "be nice,thats mean,"

put it in the cage and walk out.that teaches it that bighting isnt a good thing.

See that's the problem. Whenever my little baby does something wrong, i try to put her in her cage, but that's another problem. She won't come off my shoulder because everytime i try to take her off she thinks im gng to put her in her cage. So even when i have to, she won't let me lol she's very intelligent

I read some place that the most effective way of dealing with a bird that bites because it doesn't want to go back in its cage, is to mess with his or her mind. Pick him/her up, but don't put them back in the cage, instead put them some place else, like a table or something, so the bird loses their grasp of causality; being removed from the shoulder doesn't necessarily mean going back in the cage... this way they will eventually stop biting because they don't know what is going to happen next.

he screams alot though, like if theres something he doesnt reconise ie a balloow, a helmet on a kid, something random realli.

How much do other conures go for there? Green Cheeked conures are really cool, too. Any kind of conure, they all are pretty neat. I have eight birds at the moment. & I love them all. I have a pair of lovebirds, and a pair of cockatiels which I use for breeding. They are really easy to breed, and you can make a pretty good ammount of money. I can make a lot on my lovebirds, because the one I have is part fischer, which makes it pretty expensive. Look into breeding to make a little extra cash.

Hi yes it's very normal - maybe he wasn't fed enough in the store - birds will eat as much as they need - and the best diet is NOT SEEDS (very little nutrition) - it's pellets and fresh fruits, veggies, and nuts. Enjoy!

She doesn't suck; you're just not investing enough/any time into training her for the right behaviors. Talking, being quiet, not biting, even potty training are all achievable through positive reinforcement. Why don't you look into it?
