I need your expertise! I'm trying to decide between the pod HD bean (399$+free updates) and the eleven rack (899$+99$ update). I live in an apartment so I can't use my amp. I have two bands but for this first band guitars are mostly big power chords (JCM800,DSL50,Soldano or Rectifiers type of sound). I won't be using protools (logic 9 user) so all I want to know: Should I pay the 500$ extra for the eleven rack, does it really sound better than the pod HD for the sounds I'm looking for!

@domdauphin In your position i would see if i could take them both from a shop and try them at home for a few days with the proviso you will take one back for a cash refund and keep the other. that's the only way you will know for sure what will suit your needs best. For me the pod hd is very capable of great recordings with some tweaking but that said i much prefer the eleven rack for my tastes ( marshall/ mesa/soldano. feel wise the eleven wins hands down fx wise pod has a lot more fx TBC

@domdauphin CONTINUED,, The eleven rack fx are more simple. delay reverb chorus etc but no pitching or filters like the pod however the quality of the eleven racks fx are much better than the pods the reverb on the eleven is just stunningly musical and crystal clear

@guitarkid5 Thanks Steve. I found the pod takes a bit of tweaking to get good tones out of it but with eleven rack it literally takes seconds to dial in a great sound. the dual rectifier and marshals on eleven rack are killer

@halflife909 Thankyou.. if your deciding between eleven rack and pod hd. i think the pod hd is great value for money and i'm happy using it live because i like using a all in one floor format live. but as far as amp tones and dynamics go the eleven rack gives the pod a big whopping, its not even close really pod is good but eleven rack is excellent in that area

@vaisatchatrucci Thanks bro,,,, The burny plays real nice. It plays better than my epiphone but its not quite as well made as a Gibson its kinda somewhere in between for feel and setup. The actual sound though is as good as any guitar Ive had, the pickups are excellent and the sustainer is fantastic.. The floyd stays in tune quite well but does slip a little after heavy use, it was a real cheap guitar to buy, around the same price as a epiphone i really didn't expect it to be this good

@mrchrisbeaver Awesome man thanks for the info - theres a goldtop on Ebay (no floyd) that I was intrigued with but I am going to hold out for a decent standard probably. I don't know if I can go back to a locking nut but I also LOVE the Alex Lifeson LP model... The new Bonamassa model that just came out looks cool, but it's just a studio basically and then you're paying for the name on the headstock too though its only $1400 or so... I hear they sound great too... Too many options and no money!

Cos you have the ability to create anything for a mood or concept, but whats really cool is I can tell your tracks with just listening, you have a unique approach and Style, aswell as the tones you use, 1 of the best on Youtube m8, really outstanding.
