The symbolism and irony of being prisoners on what most would think a tropical paradise is very powerful. One of my favorite movies of all time.

Every scene in this movie is unforgettable! Steve Mc Queen is the best role for this movie! Hoffman also played his part perfectly. I was surprised other people kept watching this movie over and over just like me. I thought I was the only one to keep watching this for the nth time! The "Hey! You bastards I'm still here!" is priceless.

Steve McQueen is one of the most underrated american actor ever. He's pure class and cool. He has made very few movies but god, what movies they were: Papillon Bullitt Great Escape Sand Pebbles Thomas Crown Affair Magnificent Seven.... He could say more with one look, one flick of the eyebrows than with a thousand words. R.I.P McQueen.

@nismogropo Everything's computerized now and they don't got the content the movies don't need to rely on a storyline or inspiring attention capturing mind boggling brilliance in acting... the technology has taken away I'd say more then it's given.
