@searme True what you say about the Star Wars thing, the Lego group's Star Wars license was supposed to expire two years ago, but they got an extension. It stinks, they should rather do something original and leave the licenses alone, I mean who would want Prince of Persia or Indiana Jones?

@svenswart I have no problem with the Star Wars theme if it sells well for Lego. I have problem with the Mocpages. Look at the categories list: there is one category for each theme, Technic is put together with Bionicle, Model Team doesn't even exist, but Star Wars is divided into like 3 individual categories with 30-40 subcategories altogether. So yes, Mocpages is nice but I don't really have any reason to use it. They should rename it to SWpages to make things clear.

at 3:00 you say (write) now you only need one motor to drive instead of 2 but whit your model you need a steering motor so you are use ing exacly the same only you make it more difficult

@tim5067 Not really because the steering motor doesn't drive it, it just turns it. There are many reasons why this is better solution than two independent drive motors.

Great job on the drive train! It's quite ingenious. Did you come up with the idea or you mimicked a design from a real life vehicle?

Also to add to your answer to Mikemc from 2 years ago; if you use one motor for each side, you can never assure identical RPMs on the motors due to manufacturing differences. So, you have to use sophisticated speed control techniques o make sure the vehicle travels on a straight line. Whereas in this design, both wheels/tracks will have the exact same speed.

This is a Swedish tank. And no, modern tanks use hydrostatic transmission, but it can't be modeled with Lego parts because it requires fluids to operate.

Took me a while to figure out how the subtractor worked, but it looks cool. Now you can program an NXT or RCX or whatever to control the tank on its own. It won't be long before we have real robots fighting our real wars. Good work.
