@hammbaby Maybe Cave worked for Black Mesa, but they fired him for doing dangerous experiments. He then started his own facility, and his own tests. Black Mesa had some spies work for Cave and then stole his plans, but they didn't steal the Portal Gun blueprints. I know this is probably wrong, but it's just a guess.

@connerANDanthony1920 That doesn't mean anything. Portal and Half-Life are in the same universe. That picture was probably taken during the time Black Mesa was still up and running (before the Resonance Cascade), so it's all around the same time as Half-Life, except for Portal 2.

now gman says in some part of the game that he is not iat liberty to say

and he also says most of your weapons were govenmnet proprety (combine)

now bare with me, cave jonhson is the president of aperture, he developed a thing that allows humans to be merged with machines wich make combine, now we just have to wait until chell discovers alyx then meets freeman, and kick combines asses

This couldn't be possible. That picture is from when Gordon worked at Black Mesa, and around the time of the events of HL. Which took place in 200X (possibly 2003), but Cave Johnson evidently died in the early 80's.
