  • wishing I could have had video coverage of the '65 806D we put together at Cobleskill Ag and Tech in 1975 or so. The turbo was from a 301 ci AC marine engine. Had the original RD pump and at 7% increase on fuel she went from 90 to 129 HP. The pump gave torque rise close to Cummins. The straight exhaust was a pleasant shhhhhh! When we reset the valve protrusion to latest set of numbers she would start at -20F with no assistance. added a gallon of oil to the base capacity plus cooler ran at 185max

  • @jimmartindale wow... sounds like that was a fun project!

  • @FarmallDoctor there is nothing better than the sound of a red engine singing under load

  • @jimmartindale 185 hp? and where did you put a cooler?

  • If it ain't Red, just leave it in the shed :-)

  • I grew up on a 1969 806D with after market turbo it dyno numbers where 125hp. I only seen one 1206 in my life and it did look a little bigger however we matched its power. A 1066 would walk away from either tractor, we had one. I got to watch my Dad leave me while we were both pulling 5-16 plows or 10 ft chisel plows.

  • how many rpm's is it running?

  • @bradythompson8t

    around 2400

  • DAMN!!! I just see my grandpa sitting up in the drivers seat waving at us kids. This is one classic machine

  • agree..the 806 was not turbo

  • A step up from an M or Super M is an understatment! :o)

  • Are the 806D and the 1206 basically the same tractor? I know the 806D was none turbo from the factory. Do both tractors have the same rearend, transmission and final drives? Thanks for any info.

  • The 1206 is heavier in all aspects.

  • i love start to test or whatever and it sounds low so you jus walk over and crack her up to wfo greatest sound ever.

  • I like it! Love that Farmall sound! What did she top for numbers?

  • Hi, at rated speed it was running 115 hp. The M&W turbo doesn't produce much boost, but does clean up the exhaust a little. It is still used regularly on the farm so I left it set at that. Thanks.

  • that 361 sounds great thats the greatest part of the overhaul see if it runs right sounds good with the straight pipe

  • yavru gavur lar ne iş yapıyorsunuz şimdi siz

  • My god the smoke

  • i hope that engine was broke in befor this cause if it wasnt it sure aint goin to stay together like it should

  • As I said, this is part of the break in procedure. I ran it at partial varying load at 3/4 throttle for an hour before giving it hell. If it can't be put right to work it wasn't built right!

    Thanks.

  • Looks great and sounds even better. Grandpa bought a new 806 in '67, quite a step up from his M and Super M.

  • Sure looks and sounds great! :)

  • I love how you just went up and ripped the throttle, many a red-iron operator is familiar with the motion!!

  • It's been years since I've been on an 806...a very worn 806. But, that is probably the nicest one I have ever saw.

  • You should put it on a wheel dyno.

  • That would be pretty loud with that straight pipe on there. My 806 smokes a lot more when its working. Thats the first real 806 I have seen on youtube. The rest of the 806's apear to have a turbo charger. In my books that makes them a 1206.

  • Looks like the great white north,eh.

  • Nice!!! Ours looks good but it is not a diesel. Wish it was. I have a 560 with a M&W turbo putting out 87 hp.

  • yep thats a good ol IH

  • real strong 806 beautiful as well
