Furthermore it is time for the federal government to take action in the issue of gay marriage. Which it probably will if the case makes it to the supreme court. The argument we should let the states decide is ridiculous. Should we have left it up to the states to each pass their own civil rights act? No. Sure states have had the power to define marriage in the past but because this is a civil rights issue the federal government needs to step in.

There is a reason our federal and state governments are not direct democracy's. The founders knew that ideological majorities would get what they want and in the process trample upon the rights of minority groups. Prop 8 which restricted rights was passed and prop 19 which would have increased people's rights was voted down. The ballot initiative is flawed.

Then we get to Ruth 1:14. Naomi and Ruth are 'cleaved' together, using the same word that God used to put Eve and Adam together.

Naomi and Ruth gave us some important things: the idea that marriage is for mutual joy & comfort in adversity, and Obed. Yes, in Ruth 4:14 God explains Ruth and Naomi had a son Obed.

Actually it is a right that was given to us - in May of this year. And marriage has evolved throughout the years - if it had not, blacks and whites would still not be allowed to marry.

Also, there are gay animals. Lots of them. Tons of documented cases. Google it - you'll see.
