  • its got a 1930s future desing. Retro and beautiful

  • @nairbennyr Wish you were right, unfortunatly, none flies anymore.

  • Good god its a flying dildo with wings. BUT looks good in a strange way. never thought somehting ugly would look beautiful

  • wow nothing in the skys looks like that!

  • That was really cool, I didn't think that there were any remaining Victors that were in operational condition.

  • Shame they can't start all engines at once, like we used to in the Scrambles of old

  • This was the first 'real' aircraft I worked on out of training in 1984... still love them

  • They don't make em' look this mean these days!!

  • they dont make them like this anymore full stop hehe

  • Touche'

  • They do! You're just not allowed to see them in the media or on a radar screen.

  • All I can hear is "Let me fly! I just want to fly you bastards!" Hee hee hee.

  • probably one of the most menacing looking aricraft of all time, i just love the look of the victor.

  • its amazing they still look futursitic when tehyre like 60 - 70 yrs old

  • Lusty Lindy ?

  • No, this Victor is "Teasin' Tina". Lindy is XL231 based at Elvington, Yorkshire.

  • The Victor always reminds me of Thunderbird 2,I think it's the shape of the cockpit..

  • OUSTANDING!

    Christian

  • A very intimidating looking aircraft. I saw one at an airshow shortly before they were retired. Most of the crew were veterans of Operation Black Buck, and were happy to pass the time of day with the airshow punters. These guys dubbed themselves "The Tanker Trash", when in actual fact they were all consumate professionals. I just wonder what the Victor was actually like to fly.

  • i carnt see that co2 extinguisher haveing any effect if needed!

  • Is this H. P. Victor in flight conditions?

They were retired in 1993, Why are they starting the engine?

  • it`s wonderful the sound of these pure jets!

  • any chance now that the vulcan is about to fly again, that the victor might again take to the air?

  • Not very likely as to put a Victor back in the air would cost, at the very least, the same as the Vulcan.

  • Also the fact that there was already plans to restore the Vulc and spares where set aside no such luck for the Vic or Concorde.

  • If you were a rich company you could. xD

  • Lovely, and deadly, aircraft. 'dont make em like that anymore'

  • What is happening here? What are those guys doing wit h the gas bottle?

  • The two people have got a large CO2 fire extinguisher for fire safety precautions.

  • The external power receptacle is awfully close to the engine air intake. It must be exciting to disconnect the ground power prior to a taxi run.

  • The ground power sockets are nearby but as long as you approach the aircraft correctly you will be safely away from the engine intakes which are over 6ft up.
