A very intimidating looking aircraft. I saw one at an airshow shortly before they were retired. Most of the crew were veterans of Operation Black Buck, and were happy to pass the time of day with the airshow punters. These guys dubbed themselves "The Tanker Trash", when in actual fact they were all consumate professionals. I just wonder what the Victor was actually like to fly.
The ground power sockets are nearby but as long as you approach the aircraft correctly you will be safely away from the engine intakes which are over 6ft up.
its got a 1930s future desing. Retro and beautiful

That was really cool, I didn't think that there were any remaining Victors that were in operational condition.

Shame they can't start all engines at once, like we used to in the Scrambles of old

any chance now that the vulcan is about to fly again, that the victor might again take to the air?
DAVCOUGAR 4 years ago
Not very likely as to put a Victor back in the air would cost, at the very least, the same as the Vulcan.

Also the fact that there was already plans to restore the Vulc and spares where set aside no such luck for the Vic or Concorde.

The two people have got a large CO2 fire extinguisher for fire safety precautions.

The external power receptacle is awfully close to the engine air intake. It must be exciting to disconnect the ground power prior to a taxi run.
