I agree. And i think that since there are 2 active song writers in the band they should start releasing double LP's, Cd's and not keep such diamonds as Ghost or Free-from the previous album- as bonus or b-sides.

As i listen to the SOTU bonus tracks iam convinced the dm made the wrong choices for which tracks they included and which they left out.I f these songs were included in, SOTU would have been a masterpiece!

I agree, but it's simple, when they did "Playing the angel" Gahan wanted half the songs but ended up with 3, and on this one as well.

His songs are not bad, but i imagine Playing the angel with the great "New Born", "Free", "Better Days" & maybe "Martyr" that also was made for that album.

And i imagine "Sounds of the universe" with "Ghost", "Light" & "The sun and the moon and the stars".

The question was only which 3 of Martins songs that would go.

Gahan is great aswell, but...

@LayItPlayItDown you take out Suffer Well, Nothing's Impossible and I Want It All and Playing the Angel is unlistenable....aside from Precious of course, looking back, Martin was far from his best Also, lets not forget, Suffer well scored DM their first Grammy nomination. I know grammy's dont mean crap, but DM's fanbase are always hungry for pop attention, well, with Suffer Well, they got it.

My favorite songs written by Gahan has been wasted on his solo-albums though.

people often say that DM is getting worse with every new album they release, but im totaly disagree with that idea, their sounds are even more deep and emotional than two decades ago, their lyrics also have evolved in on way or another and for my personal likes are better, even better than their legendary Violator.
