What a class tune this is. The films good but the series is solid gold. About as good as british comedy ever got (along with Steptoe & Son, Dads Army, Fawlty Towers, Only Fools and Horses) and by the looks of it ever will get. What have we got now? My Family!, case rested.
@SonnyB1ack haha true, never mind 'Broken Britain' ... the once GREAT tradition of British comedy is a lame donkey these days sadly. Cheers for watchin mate
love this song - how is it sooo hard to find it anywhere?! busy watching it now on FILM4, can't wait for the end to crank up the volume!! 17-08-2010 UK
@loveowtlikebeer Thanks for your comment! It was shockingly difficult to find this song, this one is taken from my DVD actually. Good 'ol FILM4, whack it up!! Cheers for watching!
Just watched the movie (again) tonight! great song, thanks!. The legend that is David Jason said he learned everything from Ronnie Barker, what does that say about the comic genius that Ronnie was eh?
@roseycottage Could not agree more my friend! Ronnie Barker will always be one of the top Brit-comedy actors for me, along with good ol Leonard Rossiter. Barker had many strings to his bow, his writing was second to none as well! Thanks for watching mate.
Yes, this is a great song for a great movie. Ronnie Barker, what a complete legend and comic genius. I think I respect his comedy more than anyone else, past or present!
The best British comedies are Brilliantly Written, and even better acted.
This is quality.

A beautiful underrated theme that deserves more recognition. The Porridge film is great, but the TV series is in my top ten British sitcoms.

Porridge is still fantastic even though it's over 30 years old it's just time less. This song is for everyone if you've been inside or not.
