Nice engine. Do you have correct steam oil grade? Each Psi maximum steam pressure have different breaking down oil elements to prevent squeaking and damage or loss of hp. Steam cylinder oil except high temperatures to prevent washing away cylinder wall. Maybe the lubricator pump failed to lubricate certain amount what it should be. 100 to 150 psi steam pressure use different temperatures uses different grade steam oil. Void old unused oil.

Their intresting peices of gear to operate. I've run one here in the US at a country fair a few times. Rule number one is don't run it out of water, rule number 2 is don't run it out of water, rule number 3 is be sure it has plenty of water.
