@IVSnake26 The cost of the procedure varies, with your vet. The cheapest I've found in my area is around $300. This includes: pre-op blood work, antibiotics, exam, cleaning, flouride treatment, anesthesia, sealant and overnight stay (if desired).
@hooplemott Most vets including myself care about the pet first then the money - that is why average salaries for veterinarians have been so low for decades as compared to other professionals. A dental cleaning can be the most rewarding elective procedure that there is for the pet. I have only had one pet stop eating from severe periodontal disease - they just don't complain about it. But we know it's painful and as responsible veterinarians, we have to complain for them.
@vetworkshop Sorry, you state your price in dollars, (UK here) Everything in the UK is stupid money. I was perhaps a little over reactive with my comment, but at least I didnt go out rioting about it lol. Keep up the good work, its just that we can use cheap remedies over here BUT the industry advises against using old fashioned remedies (I suspect cos its taking profits out of the big business) no offence meant, but the veterinarians over here really do get rich from our love of animals.
