I'm a Munster man (South Ireland) and i'm thinking of joining up! The past is the past people need to move on!Britian and the USA were at war in the past and now there at war TOGETHER against a common enemy. Everyone knows that the British army is the best trained army in the world. the past is not easy to forget, maybe the past of 100 or more years ago. But the british carried out a lot of crimes and people are still living today that bare the scars of that and have not recieved one ounce of sorrw from the british establishment. so they would be right not to forget. Think of it this way, those who fought against British occupation fought for among other things free will, the freedom of Irish men and women to serve in the British military if they so desire or not to if they so desire.

Im in afghanastan at the moment and I have to say I've seen a lot of faces I recognise on that film. Im in the royal marines commandos. Man its good to talk to people thousands of miles away in Britain it makes home feel closer. peace to you all.

very true indeed, i also know a lot of guys who are serving in the royal Irish regiment, and the funny thing is they served with me in the reserve's in the Irish army. infact if you watch the queen mothers funeral, one of the first coffin bearers is a very good friend of mine who served with me for 5 yrs in the FCA, however my point was simply that the Republic of Ireland is not involved in the Iraq conflict thats all.
