well considering the israelis pussied out after claiming they would destroy hezbollah, i'd consider this a legitimate victory. israel instigated the war and dropped chemical weapons in south beirut- they tried to do as much damage as possible and hoped the support for the resistance would drop- when in reality its stronger now than EVER before. so yeah, victory would be right in my books.

Alright, I'll tell you. The Israelis didn't plan any attack for these 6 years (there was no reason), and their goals to weaken Hizbollah in 2006 were achieved by killing close to 800 of them (you might also recall all the cease-fires Nasralla asked because of that). A little over 100 IDF soldiers were killed, so the ratio is favoring Israel. Only about 800 of them were killed since they chose to fight like cowards near civilians and public structures, but nevertheless, militarily- they lost.

First of all, I live in an apartment, nothing really that fancy, second, anyone who fires at us, kidnaps our soldiers and call for our death is our enemy, and this is how you handle enemies. If they were the stronger ones, they would have done much worse. Lastly, no war is good. If you know a better solution than force, which wasn't tried yet without failing and would bring peace, please suggest it. Criticizing is easy, finding the answer is hard.

Simple- if the war made a helped the ambitions of those who fought it, it's successful- for example, Iran managed a war against Israel in 2006 with an army they personally trained, equipped and backed up (Hezbollah). The war they triggered made a distraction that allowed them to progress with their nuclear weapon program while the UN was busy watching the war.
And I won't forget it, just as I won't forget those are the same people who believe muhammad was great and that 72 virgins await them.
