Is it just me, or would Eccleston have made a fantastic Master? I mean, don't get me wrong, he's brilliant as the doctor but...i just get the feeling if they had asked him to have played the master he would have done equally (if not better) in that role as he did with this doctor. John Simm was also good in the role, but i've seen enough of Eccleston in this and other roles to know that if he's trying to be sinister...he can be Fucking sinister.
@infernai Eccleston is an awesome actor. I remember when the show Heroes was goin down the drain. The only scenes in the show worth watching had Eccleston in them playin the invisible man.
He would've played the master beautifully but I prefer him more as the doctor even after imagining how great that would've been. Would be sweet if they'd bring him back to meet the new doctor in some sort've adventure. Wished for an episode or two like that with David Tennant. Actually wished he never left.
Great scene and a good performance by Eccleston, but I do think Tennant and Smith show more anger and aggression towards the daleks, especially smith in the Churchill episode when he goes "do you know what hate looks like? Hate looks like a dalek" or something like that, and he goes berserk with a hammer.
@DJxBash Well, 10 and 11 are angry, but 9 just goes insane... He may be smiling but he's ready to torture and kill a defenceless Dalek. I think that grinning ruthlessness of his is far more violent than attacking a Dalek with a hammer. (As for 10, he's got his moments of darkness, but I think he tends to go for the righteous fury...)
This is my favorite season out of the 6 episodes I've seen so far. I really like the Daleks from what I've seen of them. They are the first thing I've seen to make the doctor freak out like that. I hope we see them again soon.
I'm sure that the least of their capabilities are shown in this episode. He could've taken over the earth alone. Moments like 1:57 were ones that shocked me.
@MrDCWood Well it was one of David Tennant's that made me a fan 'Tooth & Claw' before then I had never been interested at all in Dr. Who. Then I instantly found and watched all of Eccleston's rehash. This scene alone was when I fell in love with the Daleks. I had just instantly struck this new found love for them.
Ninth Doctor: They're never gonna come! Your race is dead! You all burned, all of you! Ten million ships on fire. The entire Dalek race wiped out in one second!
Dalek: You lie!
The Doctor: I watched it happen. I MADE IT HAPPEN!
This is my favorite scene by Nine... absolutely. It shows how much the Doctor hates the Dalek, and how much the Doctor fears the Daleks.... I miss nine so much.
One of the greatest scenes in the whole of the series as a whole. The best part is when one realizes, after looking back now thanks to Series 4, how far The Doctor had fallen into his own emotions and fears at this point, even farther than Six and Seven, and was ready to finally rid the universe of, what he believed to be, the last Dalek in the universe, no matter what it would do to him.
I can only wonder to myself, what would happen if Nine didn't die on Satellite 5 and continued on..
Infact, THE best episode of the new Doctor Who series. If I was the head writer of Doctor Who (And if this episode didn't exist) I would have 'Dalek' as the Dalek story of my era of head of Doctor Who. I mean 'Dalek' was fantastic it had one Dalek that you could concentrate on (And it was pulled off so we'll and I bet some people who didn't see this episode yet were probably thinking "ONE DALEK?!").
dont worry little dalek...there are always more daleks...the roach's of the time war.

Nothing can compare to that shock of a single dalek appearing in the new series when all the Doctors people died.
They've been overrused far too much now.

I think they should have named this episode "Metal-Tron" to give this scene more impact, especially in the beginning when the Dalek reveals itself.

his laugh from 0:45 to 0:51 makes him sound kinda insane...but he's my favourite Doctor nonetheless.

Mine too. I think this Doctor was the best.
And before this episode I always felt the Daleks were so stupid.
