guys, advice here..plz sit together and regroup what your mission is, purpose is and theological discussions will be about and how to make a solid valid point, untainted by mans simple ideas and logic, its clear he's never known Who the Spirit of Truth is, The Kingdom of God is different from the Kingdom of Heaven. Simply KOG is God with us(Jesus) and IN us (HolySpirit). All things are simple to understand with the HG and a good foundation of the Hebraic roots of Scripture and Jesus teachings
This is living proof of Genesis 6:5, I'm not at all shocked at this young man's point of view. The bible says that " the carnal mind ( the flesh, the unregenerate man) is enmity againts God, it is not subject to the law of God nor can it be" This guy is doing exactly what his heart is able to do. It,s only capacity is to hate God. Unless God regenerates first, there will be no repentance or faith. Making an attempt to convince this man is futile. Just preach the Gospel to him.
And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
This fellow has a common disease. It is called PK disease. Preacher's Kids grow up hearing and knowing scripture, but many of them never become born again, by simply surrendering and committing to Jesus Christ. They have heard the gospel message hundreds or thousands of times, may have watched others become born again many many times, but yet they have not done so.
A Christian is not a Christian for what he believes, it is being born again that is the earmark of a Christian.
@pilgrim4truth You can't be born again and not have beliefs! That's nonsense! 1 Jn 5:1 "Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Son of God has been born of God."
@M400fan The word believe as applied to believing in Jesus is not talking about believing on an intellectual basis, it is talking about repentance. Intellectual beliefs are worthless, unless they can be useful to the changing of the heart to repent. People get this wrong mostly because it is preached wrongly, usually by the OSAS baptist crowd, who seem to think head knowledge is what saves us.
@pilgrim4truth Agreed that believing in Jesus means repenting and trusting Him, but it is an intelligent response, based on an enlightened mind that has come to understand the truth about God, sin and Jesus Christ. I totally agree that it is possible to have an enormous amount of orthodox head knowledge without being saved, but it is not possible to be born again with no beliefs about God and Christ whatsoever. The gospel is propositional truth that must be heard, understood and believed.
I would repent and fall on my face if science could be reconciled with christianity. Unfortunatley it can't. Christians live in la-la land, denying science, yet using science to live. The fact that YouTube exists for this video to be here is due to science, not God. God didn't give science to man, and didn't give anything useful such as antibiotics to us either. I want to believe, but can't because Christians are just some horribly ignorant people.
@BoyintheMachine SCIENCE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW THE WORLD STARTED. EVOLUTIONISTS NEVER SAW EVOLUTION, AND FOR THAT MATTER, neither did Creationists, SO EVOLUTION CAN'T be proven by "science" any more than Creationism can be. It all makes sense, God CREATED the world, made scientific laws to govern the PHYSICAL universe, AND NOW WE HAVE TO "CREATE" TO MAKE ORDERLY THINGS! AND maybe GOD didn't "Give" us antibiotics, BUT HE GAVE US SCIENCE AND CREATIVENESS TO KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT!!
That explains it. Your beliefs are likely to change the older you get. At your age I was a dedicated Christian too and even caried my bible to school everyday.
@BoyintheMachine You can't be a REAL Christian early in life and then NOT be a Christian later. You're either a Christian or you're not. Of course I don't know your exact circumstances in your life, perhaps you'll return to Christianity later, but you cant COMPLETELY "leave" Christianity if you were TRULY saved at one time. Only the rest of your life will tell whether you were truly saved then. "If they were truly one of us they would have remained with us." Thanks for talking nicely, some dont.
Matthew 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
Behold, I know God exists because of the miracles He has done in my life. It's time for the world to see the power of God move into the earth like never before.
Its funny how people judge others and not know anything about them. I would rather have a Christian evangelize and make mistakes then learn from them, then not witness at all like most professing Christians
Luke 17:20-21. guys who are evangelizing, read your bible. Know theology. The kingdom of God is at hand in us, and is coming in full at the last day. He says it clear in those verses mentioned above. anyone who has struggled with this persons comments read luke 17:20 till the end of the chapter. Jesus knows that we doubt, He is gracious to show us and remind us in his word. READ IT.
I think that if you want to be a powerful witness then do what Jesus did.Go to a sick person and heal them.Give to someone in need.People would rather see a sermon than hear one.
Also,Jesus said that God's kingdom would not be seen with our eyes because it's within us.
Its kinda sad that no one is really getting the point of what the guy is saying. First of all i totally agree with what athebottomofyourcup we need to be better trainied. I have been in the exact same place this guy is right now. I studied theology and was led astray for a while too. He is not simply to into himself or the spirit of confusion has him. No.
When They saw Jesus in Glory this is what the scripture was talking about. They saw Moses and Elijah come down. Start reading at Luke 28 and pray for disernment. But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.
That's the problem, you're looking for religion and not Jesus Christ. Christians are saved through a supernatural act of God, not our beliefs. He who began a good work in you will finish it.
He is absolutely in love with himself and you can sense that in his arrogance, and that would relate to the ritch mans story from the gospels. This case is more than not seing the Lord its more like not wanting, because he wants to worship himself, he wants prais himself with words, he wants to be ritch and use it for his own exaltation. He chose to separate from God, just as Adam did, two identical sins. Hi to all from Lithuania!
I think that if you are going to witness to people you should have more training. God does and can use anybody to reach anybody, but this kind of person needs a better qualified person. The church really needs to raise up better teachers. The bicycle boy has relevant questions. He just needs the truth. That is what he is asking for. Bad teachers have been in his life. The kingdom of God is coming and is now here. Jesus said this. What is that kindom? Please don't go out in the street playing.
ya know this interviewer could show some of the pier preachers how it's done. i'm not protestant, but some of the other pier preachers are perfectly vicious. they pepper people with questions designed to embarass and twist the knife on camera. they just want to win arguments not converts. this is a better approach.
(2/2)but its because of our wickedness that no man can stand blameless before God, regardless of what kind of 'proof' they have. Without the realization of our sin the gospel means nothing. The self-centerdness of any mans heart and his hate for his Creator is the evidence of the existence of sin, as is the result of the fall of man, which leads to suffering and death. The suffering of this life and the hopelessness of man is a testament to how horribly evil sin against God is.
(1/2)Lots of people think like this, obviously. But its not about, "we need more proof from God". We are not going to come under his judgment and wrath because we did not believe. We (... as in some people) come under his wrath because all men have sinned, and God in his righteousness is also a just God. Others will not come under his wrath because they have been saved by the blood of Jesus. So yes as a result, the first presumption is not false
This man is speaking more truth than the man interviewing him!!! He is right about the resurrection: nobody rises from the dead! you are the false Jesus freaks that try to bring God down to "rising from the dead vampirisim"!!!! You get saved first then you are qualified to be a Christian...Crooks! False Prophets! You don't even know where God is right now if your life depended on it..You are finished! ARMAGEDDON is coming! Many will come saying Jesus is CHRIST and deceive many! Luke 21:8
Through the fire are we refined. Tough interview, I bet you learned a ton from that. Those are common questions easily answered. If they did line up exactly there would be acusations of cohersion. Just like court it adds validity that they are similar yet slightly different. Even the seed has information packed inside it's DNA that instructs it what to do.
He asked about needing confirmations. There are tons of books writen on the resurrection and showing its proof for valid truth - by top doctors and people in the field that are experts on this issue and the historical truth of the resurrection. He didnt look into it or he would not have said that. Its too bad. Hopefully he will get saved (for real).
Verses and info to help with these objections: "The kingdom of God is not coming with things that can be observed; nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or 'There it is!' For, in fact, the kingdom of God is among you." ( Luke 17:20-21) Jesus said in Mark 9:1 "And he said to them, "I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God come with power." The key word is power.
This was talking about The Holy Spirit. He was sent and given to believers. He has the power of the Kingdom of God, He convicts people of their sins and converts them into new creations by the gospel of Christ. The gospel has the power to convert souls.
The people of that generation and those who heard that from Jesus lived (at least) until the Holy Spirit was sent from Heaven to mankind.
If this is Huntington Beach or an area where other believers frequent a lot, he'll get the answers from them next time. If you guys run into him next time you could say that you looked into his objections and have answers for him...and then give it to him. If you have a book on the resurrection that would be very good on it..I would also give it to him.
If you do, you could post it as part two of this video so that non believers could see the answers and get that information too. Or maybe you two could do a video with the answers and just post it on your page so people can get the answers. Hope this was all helpful to you!!
