In a race, the blue flag is only shown to drivers one or more laps down, not when two drivers are racing for position, especially when its over 3rd place. A slower driver doesn't necessarily have to get out of the way just because a faster kart is behind him. Now we know :)

@tulrob Hi there, just read your comment on this video. Thought you may like this info: blue flags are for traffic that is going a lap down (or multiple laps down), unless in a practice setting. In a race they do not give blue flags to people are potentially going to be passed for position, that's what makes it a race. The driver that was holding him up was ahead in position, therefor no blue flag should be displayed.
