yeah, great vid, but that part u were landing in rio, santos dumont, is not done that way... you have to get around the bay passing through sugar loaf montain and then, land in runway 02R. I say that because i live in brazil and i landed many times in rio. anyway, great video and awesome quality!

@jr4460 No. To get performance on that you would need to sacrifice graphics a lot. My other system is faster than that and faster than the one I used for this video and I even have to take it easy with the settings on it.

@1Filmproducer Since your computer newer, I'd say you'll get at least 5-10 frames more than me in similar scenarios. My i5 system, just for a reference, maintains an average framerate a lot better than this, which is choppy for nowadays.

@frajolex Maybe you`re running everything on max with unlimmited visibility. Thats not feasable for most of us. Plus, the q6700 replacements are faster for fsx.

@Intelfan127 You need a better graphics card. When you get it, still, you will need to lower some settings by a bit. A guy I knew had an i7@3.0ghz, 12 gb ram and a gts250 and had to lower the settings a bit in some scenarios.

That will probably run fsx on medium. I have a core 2 duo at 2.8ghz so you can use that as a reference, but the 7100 is pretty low end and I would recommend 3gb ram. If its not urgent, Id say save a little more.

ok. but make sure to upgrade the video card when possible. That one will hold your cpu back. (the pc is only as fast as the slowest part)

A good CPU + slow GPU will slow things down  because 1. The gpu will be working at max capacity and still won`t handle everything,causing the data to wait for the next cycle(lag) and 2. The CPU will be underused.

Both parts should be at the same level(balanced). You should save up for a card around the 9600gt(about 75 bucks)

What you told me would apply if the GPU was at a higher level than the CPU. A slower GPU would free the CPU a bit but for the core 2 duo, that`s not the case.

I don`t know how fsx runs on pentiums, but for that core 2 duo you said, the 8600 should work fine. I don`t think they sell the 8800 anymore(the 9600 and 9800gt are good deals though). Look here on youtube for fsx on different hardware to check the performance. cheers

nah! I don`t get annoyed. If your going ATI/AMD, you are sure to lose 3 or more fps just because fsx was designed for intel/nvidia. With those specs you will get about 18 fps on high. I would recommend an intel quad core at 2.8 ghz and at least a 4850 or 9800gt. You would get like 37fps on high. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers.
