@blazemaster71 You must have "Show hidden files and folders" turned on. Unfortunately, this trick does not completely hide a folder. Read the other comments to see how to hide hidden folders.

@careyalltheway You must have "Show hidden files" checked under the "View" tab in "Folder Properties", located in the "Tools" menu of an explorer window, as "Folder Options".

After you do all this, can't you just right click on the batch file, and hit EDIT.

Then someone could easily retrieve the password.

@troiannus It should work. Unlock it and then copy the batch file and the folder onto the flash drive, and re-lock it. Obviously, it won't work if the other person isn't running windows though (if they were running Ubuntu, they would just see the Control Panel.{...} folder). Or maybe you don't even want to lock the folder, since you are giving it to someone else?

All this does is make a folder hidden and makes it s 'system' folder which hides it more. It should work on Vista 32 and 64 bit because it is a basic cmd function, but I personally wouldn't trust large files.

Yes inside, the batch file add the attributes of +s and +h to the folder it makes. Then, it renames it to 'Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD­-08002B30309D}' So it is completely hidden and un-openable. Then if you run it again, it will ask you for a password, which you set inside. If you get the password right, it will add -h and -s to the 'Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD­-08002B30309D}' and then rename it to the folder. Just not exactly in that order.
