@SethGisborne i had a dog in the backyard and it kept going under the fence and if he had a coller he would of choked, im glad i didnt put a coller on him, btw if your dog is inside, you dont have to have a coller, and a cat thats outside, DONT PUT A COLLER, because cats climb fences and stuff like that
The first Border Collie we had did this too! When she was about 8 weeks old my uncle came and put fencing up all around the garden to keep her in certain parts and he hadn't gone 10 minutes before she realised how to get out

My neighbor's dog was hung on the fence for pulling the same stunt only hers had a collar on. :(

That's why pet stores sell break away collars or microchips that are placed under the dog's skin and the vets and pound people scan them.
