  • πόσο θεός είναι γαμώτο?

  • It makes me feel warm.

  • it's a rainy sunday morning today, perfect song. Love Lanegan.

  • Lanegan, the voice.

  • there is some similarity with U2-Johnny Cash's "The Wanderer" but in a positive way:

This song is far more relaxing! (in contrast to U2's typical "saved by the holy ghost"/religious-music feeling)

  • LOVE IT!!! All of his work is awesome.

  • It's an ugly Sunday morning and the wind begins to start and the clouds refuse to break, apart, like me. He's always been a hell of a writer.

  • just came back from work...uglier Sunday ever...

  • Ugly sunday morning for me today.

  • tomorrow is a fuckin ugly sunday for me. cheers everyone

  • 7 people who rated this song enjoy eatting lead filled paint chips.

  • 7 fucking IDIOTS

  • ahaha This song was uploaded on my birthday... coincidence, i think not!

  • uhhh that voice!

  • Where is my needle?

  • god damn i love his independent stuff. The use of the acoustic and electric guitars, combined with the low piano chords... damn that's good stuff.

  • @JAROSLAVAGINA I love it!!

centro-matic has south san gabriel for ther slower stuff, this wouldn't have gone good betwwen tree's songs. Now he's doing so much stuff I can't even keep up. One of the GREATEST!!!

  • grande , bravo!!!!

  • RANSLEY-IN ORBIT

  • what's the name of the city?

  • @honeyflymusic i believe that it is Seattle...cause its always rainy and that kind of stuff... plus mark its from Seattle

  • @honeyflymusic

yes, it's seattle. it's all shots of downtown seattle, and Mark is originally from Ellensburg. it's a small farm town, about 1.5-2 hours east of seattle.

  • I never heard of this guy until his single for Rage 'Burning Jacob's Ladder', but I have to say I love the guy's voice, so much character behind it.

  • @fvv3 Lanegan has a back catalogue going back over 25 years, You should check it out.

  • mark has such a beautiful voice - ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i just loved Screeming Trees i met them in 1995 wow ... mr time do not go too fast on us... it just feels like yesterday

  • Asuming I'm the only 15 year old listening to this song, right?

  • @voro122 there are 9year olds listening to Mark :)

  • @voro122 I'm 16 but close enough. And only just

  • @voro122 not the only one

  • Got to see Mark at the Showbox a few years back. One of the best shows I have ever seen.

  • whoa really catchy beautiful

  • Timeless. I bow down at the throne of LANEGAN.

  • I miss Mark: so many good shows in Seattle: those he made it to, and those he didn't: much loved!

  • Great voice and great song^^

  • @amadisborealis ... ;)

  • its just so good

  • motley crue were shit bell ends

  • @captsyphillus lol funniest youtube comment

  • @JereyRocksJerey Could you ask him to run that by me again. :)

  • @W78516 huh XD

  • The voice that cuts like a hot knife thru butter. Amazing!

  • speachless, as always

  • Superb, as always

  • @captsyphillus Motley Crue was the shit.. This is great...and MC was great...Its about the emotions that are evoked from the music not really everything that surrounds the music... Sure everthing that surrounded 80s metal was awful..but the sound!!!!......The attitude is still MONEY!!!

  • Brilliant!

  • I always want a good glass of irish whisky, whenever I hear this song.

  • @ejgiv He always sounds like this.

  • @ripkurdt That may be, but he still sings like Johnny Cash.

  • @ejgiv Regardless of who he sounds like, I believe we can all agree Lanegan is a fuckin' beast.

    Yes? :)

  • In order to listen to this song properly, you need: whiskey on the rocks a cigarette or cigar, and a heavy or broken heart, if you don't have two out of the three you can not get this song man.

  • @grungepuppy9 not really. He's singing this in the same register that Cash uses but Lanegan techically has a far better voice and range than Cash.

  • Ever notice how Mark looks AND sounds EXACTLY like the lovechild of Jim Morrison and Tom Waits?

  • can the dude not seriously finish a fucking line of lyrics without puffing.. that's just addiction.

  • I don't know if the Seattle captured in this footage exists anymore. I'm still here & the rain still falls, but the city has changed. What a time capsule this song & footage is.

  • Jack Endno and Mar Lanegan are two of the best musicians of there time and are genuinely good people you could have a real converstation with. In the 80's theses guys were so cool and talked with me and helped me with music when I was just a kid. A shout out to Heidi and Alan Cordova!

  • @captsyphillus it's never to late to become a lanegan-addict

  • @captsyphillus you are beautiful:-)

  • @captsyphillus there is always someone who fits someone !!!

  • oh god! this guy was with mad seasons in long gone day. i just relized that, ive been listening to this and that song for bout year and i never put it together! thats awsome!

  • @captsyphillus You're not alone...so many of us were lost in the 80's. I never even heard this song until like '97 or '98. But hey, better late than never.

This song always reminds me of my heavy drinking days--helped me through many an ugly, hungover Sunday morning.

  • Your not the first asshole I knew who was listening to Moltey Fool back then .

  • Great voice and great song !!!!!

  • @captsyphillus I know what you mean...this is so much more in depth and relective, and so much more real than Motley Crue..

  • @DramaDon83 apples and fucking oranges. crue is best at what they do. they are a glam rock band!! just enjoy this and stop the bullshit about the Crue. Mark Lanegan is the man!!

  • @aliceinchains20000..crue is shallow mud music...I like something that reaches more into the mind.. and if you are the type that feels the need to have the last word then you can say whatever you want...I have better things..conver over........

  • @DramaDon83 aliceinchains is right- apples and oranges. totally different music. its like saying marvin gaye is way better than ac/dc!! i'm with alice. btw- i love alice in chains too buddy!!

  • @MegaTeddyballgame Alright, Alright!..apples and oranges...its all fruit right?..I got both your points...and I love Alice in Chains to..

  • @DramaDon83 but to get back to Lanegan- this is the bomb and i love what you said about it reaching into the mind...it moves me. its haunting. its brilliant.

  • @aliceinchains20000 Hey man...I have had a bad day driving my dumptruck and am a little edgy...sorry if I took your reply in a personal way.........to tell you the truth when it comes down to it, Queensryche is my favorite..

  • this entire album is nothing short of incredible. but man, these days i cannot take the intensity, it can get pretyy bleak. Lanegan is incredible though. blows me away.

  • @captsyphillus love lozers ! * wink*

  • The best songs paint a picture, don't they? This song just fits.

  • Brilliante!!!

  • lanegan is on of the best singers of all time.. a sublime voice:)

  • Hard to believe I've been listening to this rekkid for over 20 years now...

  • Una manianita dedicada a Mark... y aplauso de pie para la seniorita Elle.

  • everyone says this is his best idk i think all of his music is great

  • Is it actually possible for Marx Lanegan to produce a song that isn't fucking brilliant!

  • @captsyphillus you were dude

  • @captsyphillus

Naw man, you're ok...we were all listening to Crue in '89. And that was cool too.

But now, let's just relax and enjoy Mr.Lanegan...

  • I hate sunday so much! I want Lanegan so baaaad..

  • @captsyphillus you should have watched Teletunes, not Mtv. At least youve found good music now. Chin up!

  • mark lanegan is just amazing..

  • @captsyphillus ,I found your comment amusing,I don't listen to same stuff i use to either! it's never to late to discover great music, better late than never, thanks.

  • awesome!

  • @captsyphillus

Don't be so hard on yourself even guys in Alice in Chains were into glam metal in the beggining. Their first songs are really glam. Posers :)

  • @captsyphillus -Its ok man ,never its too late ...good rock music never fades out ....

  • This is the tune that first got me into Lanegan. The Trees were one of the Grunge bands who were huge in the Pac. Northwest but didn't get much exposure. They got a little-but not Dick compared to the obvious bands...Lanegan is a living miracle, considering the years of heroin abuse and I've seen him perform, several times over the last ten years and he sounds like himself (kick-ass) when he's strung-out and when he's not...

  • our generations tom waits, hands down

  • capo cierto parecido con Tom Waits o mera coincidencia

    nano

  • I just discovered The Winding Sheet.Like finding a twenty dollar bill in an old pair of jeans.thanks for video,

  • @Imbecominglight

Man it's more like finding a jackpot - like any music that's made from the heart!

  • Mark Lanegan solo tour coming to finland! Finally :))

  • Is that Mike Johnson on guitar?

  • never mind! at least you progressed. fucking beautiful is it not?

    kind regards, floyd

  • ML kills it every time. Screaming Trees..QOTSA... etc.. He is the cool Leonard Cohen. He even held his won with Layne.

  • Legend.

I'm seeing him in a few weeks, can't wait!!

  • I love this man

  • fan worship or not, the man can do no wrong! I only hope to see him live some day.

  • such a legend.

  • What a song =D

  • anyone else like listening to this song particularly when hungover?

  • me! :D And when I feel like shit ;)

  • I know this sounds like fanworship

but is there nothing that this man touched that didnt turn to gold. I mean literally everything, Screaming trees, solo stuff, gutter twins, qotsa( funny all the lanegan ones are the best), and Soulsavers , my god how good are they. Fingers crossed for a new solo record soon.

  • dont forget his stuff with isobel campbell

  • too late , but thank you, how could I forget two of my fav bands of all times having their singers unite

  • Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen should be jealous for this deep, howling voice :)

  • sounds allot like Nick Cave... awesomeness. just watched a vid of him doing Clear Spot by Captain Beefheart that was crazy good. Had no idea I was already listening to him though (queens of the stone age)

  • Good video, check out mine!

  • Lanegan, a very underappreciated artist

  • one of the all-time greats. thanks Mark.

  • That sky looked Grey....nice and mellow:-)

  • was mark lanegan born old and weary. class

  • Every time i hear this song, and thats ALOT, I lay back, chill, light a ciggarette and sing along!!! Mark Lanegan is the best!!

  • @SwapMeatBleach shit like that will kill you.

  • @rushpython100 Ciggarets?? I gotta die from something man.. And id rather enjoy my life while i slowly kill myself than live without my ciggarets and rock music /,,/

  • @SwapMeatBleach Mark himself doesnt even smoke anymore.. Hadnt done for years so there 's no need for to act like a wannabe thru smoking anymore.

  • @SwapMeatBleach

sounds ace mate. Lanegan is the king. Try finish up the smoking though, its no good for you. im off them a year now and feel very fresh and happy.

    peace!!

  • @goran148 I totally agree, I dont smoke and never will, but saying that its probably smoking that gives this guy such an awesome voice.

  • @SwapMeatBleach Wow. First time hearing this. Just.... wow!

  • @SwapMeatBleach yeah, he is really awesome.

  • This is such a good song. Thanks for all the inspiratioin Mark.

  • oh dear, don't be so hard on yourself, better late than never !

  • great :)

  • Feels like the weather in Ellensburg, WA. Makes me want to drink and I love it!

  • bravo!

  • Anyone else faintly hear "Dive" by Nirvana in the verse riff? I'm not saying one copied the other or anything, I'm just pointing out something minutely interesting that I noticed.

  • @BlindMesiah

hey blind, too many songs use 3rd note intervals in music.. meaning hitting a note, then whole step up.. then whole step down again.. repetitively.

dive, you know your right, this song, umm thousands of others do too..

thats just why it sounds similiar

  • Great all !

  • great voice

  • this song is exactly what an ugly sunday feels like in seattle. makes me want to drive out to snohomish and smoke up in a wet patch of mossy woods.

  • Seattle was described as the new Liverpool. In terms of music, maybe. In terms of weather, definitely! ;D

  • This is a classic. glad that I said it here and now. thirty years from now you haters will be ridiculed....Lanegan ROCKS

  • the best I love sucks

  • 1:22 i love this part, the guitars in cacophony

  • First heard this song in 1993 on a cool college station that I then listened to regularly. Didn't even know who it was by - or the song's name for that matter - for a couple years, but I had it on tape and listened to it frequently before finally tracking it down on cd. It reminds me of being a teen. One of my all-time favorites.

  • It could all be such a cliche what with the drugs, the booze, the cigarettes, the tattoos, the time in prison but that voice just makes it all real and true and honest. There's no-one else like him.

  • это просто... нечто!

    практически его хочу!

  • @sophiaturbo sorry????

  • every fall I have to get reacquainted with this album. oh - and every autumn too...

  • lanegan is so... awesome.

  • My hair used to be like that. Miss it. :[

  • me too

  • It only reaches past my collar bones. How short did yours go?

  • mine's normal-style short right now, but when i graduated high school, it was down past the middle of my back. i've grown it out to a little over shoulder length a couple times since then, but never as long as when i was 18.

  • For work-related issues?

  • partially. that and females say i look better with it short. lol

  • My girlfriend likes long hair. She just wanted me to cut it because it was longer than hers and she was jealous. She even admitted that. XD

  • GRUNGE RULEZ

  • How is this Grungy? Is Tom Waits grunge?

  • Who said Tom Waits is grunge? i dont even know that person.

MARK LANEGAN is a GRUNGE legend man.

if you don't know him or even knowing what grunge is.....

    SHAME ON YOU!!!

  • Grunge was a marketing tool word used by the media to brand all kinds of music into one package that people like you would see the label "grunge" on and automatically buy. Cloaths, car insurence, music, food...you name it, they used the grunge thing on it.

Truth is, lots of the originals were fantastic(the music) but then the major labels started making bands up like they do today.

Get a bunch of Juliard graduates, dress them up with whatevers cool at the time, then make them play the music.

  • Sorry man, i'm just having one of these moments where I have to correct someone. The word grunge is one of my pet peeves.

Another one of my pet peeves is that damn noise a loose snare drum makes when u try to play bass or guitar alone in a room where theres a drum kit. THAT FUCKING NOISE.

I swear i like every other noise on earth. But that shit pisses me off. xD

    Cheers.

  • I can't call this song Grunge because it doesn't make sense.

Maybe my reasoning is a little too logical to understand.

  • Yeah! Mark´s my favourite singer all time... Neil Young comes the second! Yeah, call me heretic!

  • I call you correct
