Hey just wanted to say from one diver to another, thanks for your awesome videos, im only an amateur diver, i lifeguard at my pool and we have about a 10 ft high dive and two 1 meter boards but no duraflex, those boards are so damn nice, with our boards most you can get out of them is about enough airtime for a double front for the low dives.

As for Coney Island, I wouldn't pay $5.00 let alone $15 or whatever outrageous price they charge now to dive off cheap plastic boards and get yelled at by paranoid lifeguards. Last time I was there they only had one Duraflex diving board, and I bet that one is gone now.

In Triest we have also other two typical dives: the kamikaze (watch?v=inwpY8YFh9g&feature=r­elated) and the american bomb (watch?v=Y_SrZNvx7kY&feature=r­elated). We perform these three dives in order to produce the biggest splash, this is the mission and these three dives are perfect for the purpose. Is the suicide dive born for the same reason? It's very nice to have a dive in common :)

Yeah, this is the CLANFA, the typical dive of the city of Trieste, Italy. All the triestins know it very well by generation. Here there is also a "documentary" about this important piece of triestin culture: just search "the clanfa english" on youtube :) :) :)

Here in texas we call that a parachute!!! a suicide dive is actually a dive with no hands in front of your head. check out the video that i posted in response to yours. that is how a suicide dive/torpedo is performed.

The dive you do in your video is a called a sailor dive. Sailors in the navy perform that dive when jumping off a battleship so they don't break their arms entering the water.

No, a suicide is a complex motion. More than one movement is involved in a suicide. In a watermelon, you can just hold a ball and you are fine. With a suicide, you have to be spread out before you hit the water, then as you hit the water you have to arch your back. They are alot different. Also, your entry in a watermelon is more or less perpendicular to the water. In a suicide, your entry is almost parallel to the water. They're both fun though.
