  • whats the name of the BBQ band beat on here at 3:08?!?!

  • daft punk said themselves that they found some old lp´s and mixed them to create interstella 555

  • I think that you should be a genius to sample music in this brilliant way and make your (great) tracks.

Daft Punk are geniuses so it's ok!

  • I think Fresh is from Billy Joel's Piano Man

  • This video is just one big mess.

  • Daft Punk is a DJ Group you retard, they remix songs. Its not stealing , its promoting. Learn a bit kid.

  • save yourself some time: who sampled.com

  • do you not know what a dj is?

  • Pretty crazy

  • Fresh = Billy Joel - Piano Man

  • thanks for taking my advice with boronski beat

  • "hi im an average daft pink fan and ever sicne i fund ut daft pank copeeh so maneh people song i don leik dem anymore"

daft punk has mastered the art of SAMPLING, not COPYING. there is a huge difference.

people who always send lawsuits to girl talk or any other dj's are the type of people who don't know the difference.

  • Hah! It is "Something's in the air." for superheroes.

  • and nightvision was supertramp... i think...

  • Aerodynamic was sister sledge AND HELLS BELLS - AC/DC!!!!!!!

  • Wow i knew that daft punk used samples but i didn't know that they used that much.

  • I love Daft Punk, they're pretty much the only decent thing to come out of France

  • @EpicSoloFace and Justice ?

  • @EpicSoloFace and them Justice, Kavinsky, Breakbot, SebastiAn and Sebastien Tellier...

  • One more time... it's original (no samples)

  • @tomas51000 All the song is a sample lol.

  • Of course Daft Punk sample, they're DJ's.

  • @lewispeckham you're confused here. a DJ plays other peoples records, daft punk 'produce' their own shit but sample heavily. DJs don't make records so they don't need to sample, and producers don't need to sample because they can use synthesisers to make sounds. Daft punk just sample and rework old tracks and put em to a new beat, like hip-hop - that's what french electro is, justice do the same thing.

  • The helmet is important because the daft punk puppets must be replaced once in a while. Whats especially funny is to see one of them with a guitar in his hands wearing leather-gloves :) Great.Daft Punk = Thievery Corporation.

  • Im sorry but what version of the song would you want playing in a club

  • @GTFODeathknight true say

  • Comment removed

  • Daft Punk Is Consisted of 2 DJ's, So They Have Original And Remixed Songs

  • @TheGenesisfreak what does that have to do with it

  • @slashy04 People were saying they weren't good artists Because they sampled and i was clearing to those retards they were djs

  • @TheGenesisfreak

    "they were djs"

which is why they aren't good artists

  • sampling is not an easy process it takes talent to re use other peoples work to making something completely new and something as powerful as their tracks.....lets be honest if it was easy there would hundreds of daft punks out there...

  • Did you guys know that Daft Punk is basically robotic hip hop? Don't believe me? Fair enough... xD

  • 2:34 looks like the guy is holding a dildo.

  • they give credit on the discovery album to all the songs they sample. they weren't hiding that they sample.

  • @daddimack Do they donate a portion to each artist they sample from (living ofcourse)?

  • @clipsryan idk.. they should if those samples put them on the map.

  • Daft punk are fucking genius, they took samples like other DJs... but contrary to most of the DJs they did something great with it, not only dance music.

  • ok.. they samlped... but.. how do you explain TRON then? 1,000,000,000 of Dj's do sampling. Just DAFT PUNK make the TRON soundtrack.

  • @DargellNF You like many others fail to miss the entire point.

  • i have no idea why this is so hard for people to accept? Sampling was and is an art!!

  • 1:13 - Where's similarity?

  • decepcionado pensaba qe daft punk no ocupaba sampling para las canciones u.u igual los amo pero pensaba qe producian las canciones al 100%

  • @19899384 ellos son DJ's siempre lo hacen pero eso no los hace malos, THEY R THE BEST man!!!!

  • When I heard the Harder Better Fast Stronger sample, I died. I mean DP is AMAZING and I still love them but....

  • @sohnicthedhedgehog dont be disapointed samples are samples so what daft punk is still bad ass. think about it this way, gay dead songs from the 80s got reborn and turned into somthing cool and amazing and who gets the credit...... daft punk

  • @TheRetardedspartans WOOOOO! DP FTW!

  • Welcome to French house. enjoy your stay

  • BBQ Band - Dreamer

  • I agree with SUPERSWEETLOU and I like what you did here, but generrally daft punk always mention in the sleeves who are they sampling. so that's not quite new.

  • TOO LONG?

  • @link12817 no pissing lazers

  • I don't think you meant to discourage daft fans. That said, I think this sampling is better than the ones going on right now, because they sample more than just a catchy beat, they copy the entire Hook. And actually if you look in the cd sleves it pretty much tells you what samples they used (but I guess it defeats the purpose of trying to figure it out yourselves)

  • I think Al Jarreau's "Love Speaks Louder Than Words" is a possible source for "Voyager" with minor pitch alteration.

  • -.- bad. bad.bad and bad

  • maybe 50% of them

  • Moved way too fast through them :P but good job anyways!

  • im staying with daft cuz the originals songs they copied are dead

  • Am stiking with daft punk :D

  • Right on! I'm more of a Daft Punk fan now. I love those old 70s joints. Cerrone!

  • If. Sumone knows the name to all the songs from the smaples can u message me all of them cuz I would like to look up the artist who played all the songs to those samples thanks :-)

  • 2:41 name of daft punk's song please!

  • @cezarrtm Voyager :P

  • Am i the only one who loves every single daft punk song except veridis que and emotion?

  • @CebuLips9 I thought that song was awesome

  • Daft Punk song: Fresh

Sample: Definitely a Billy Joel song (I don't know which one)

That made me laugh so much

  • @link12817 you sir are just the most impulsive person ever. and i award you for that w=)>>>> <LAZER DICK!!!

  • they're dj's thats what dj's do they take shit and make it better and what they did was making it better

  • the brothers johnson - something about us is wrong... but most of them are right

  • The only reason why they took bits off of other songs is because they are DJs, if you haven't noticed.

  • @Slash5977 even a hip hop producer trys to create a new sound with a sample. thats sampling. but daftpunk faked too much... their success based on too much other interprets...

  • B( wow. I just realized that not all of Daft Punk's songs were made by them. They were sampled. Oh well... theyre still my favorite music group. Love their music anyway.

  • wow they really like the phaser effect lol

  • 1:21 what is that eargasm????

  • Go on whosampled(.)com if you're interested in where samples come from :)

  • If Daft Punk used those songs as samples then that's a good thing. Most of the originals to me sound rubbish but the Daft Punk versions I can enjoy.

  • Very well done vid but : You may want to let each song run for more than 5 seconds, it's hard to compare, such short clips. just an idea

  • Daft Punk definitely knows how to mix music. Turning classics into modern hits.

  • derezzed is a cooler version of indo silver club, MINDS BLOWN

  • 2:34 is being sent to ellen degeneres

  • voyager is all daft punk

  • @MegaAirsoft98 using them for themselves

  • stupid.....

  • remember.. not everything is sampling.. they made some songs like voyager!

  • Daft Punk isn't getting offended here... This is fine you know putting it out (from what your saying) STOLE music.. Thanks Captain ASSHOLE

  • fresh has 2 samples piano man and just the way you are and short circuit is funkadelic by knee deep

  • @madmny100 first its knee deep by the funkadelic parliament and second daft punk didnt sample this song

  • Seriously, some of these are drum beats? There's really not a lot you can do with percussion, but I do see the similarity (and exactly the same pattern) in the beats

  • LOL, i honestly thought they created all of the sounds, just with some samples. Turns out i was dead wrong.

  • @rockomundo Their Daft Punk they made them better.

  • I guess you could call them fixers of the broken music industry. Although there are some pretty nice original songs :)

  • yes they took old disco sample! because it is french house! man people are so dumb!

  • The only reason I have no problem with Daft Punk sampling is because they are house musicians, it's kind of a part of their job description to remix old bits into their music. I have zero respect for rap artists who steal music, however, because they're supposed to...you know, be doing something completely their own.

  • @ZxReDMisTxZ Rappers aren't "supposed" to be doing anything. Hip Hop was born from sampling and sampling has been a huge part of hip hop since then. It's stupid and unfair to just let Daft Punk slide because of that criteria and not Hip Hop artists.

  • nice findings :]

  • 2:33 wierdest cover art EVER

  • Suprised koto isn't in. here

  • i dont get it. which part of robot rock was sampled?? it was too hard to tell...

  • @tommyballer10 basically the whole thing

  • WTF !!!

    all tracks are sampleloops LOL

  • Robot rock is just a slightly speeded up version, just with added minimalism and a stronger bassline! :D

  • @ 1:33 thomas looks smart and guy man dosent

  • I find it funny that some of these songs are unrecognizable after Daft Punk gets their robotic hands on them, and some of them sound almost exactly the same.

  • lol if you look at it this way you can say every electro song is stolen, because there are 10000000 songs offcourse there are some songs which sounds the same, only the ones they really bought are used. All other suggestions are bullcrap, some of them dont even sound like daftpunk. Daftpunk is like jesus, they turn water into wine.

  • yall dumb that is their gimic. all they do is sample songs and remake it

  • Remember where Daft Punk came from... They are DJ's after all.

  • great job ..

  • Looks like G*yn*****s from outer space at 2.33.

  • 0:40 Guy Manu. Daft Punk wears Calvin Klein underwear =) SEXY !!!!

  • the wrong sample for high life is scary

  • It's called being a DJ. My dad's a DJ(not famous) but he does the same thing as Daft Punk but just improving the songs with more bass and movement to it. But your video is still awesome.

  • I think that´s the way they work they take an idea (sample) and create from it , so I don't see nothing wrong about that... besides their songs are WAAAAYYYY better than the originals ^ / \

     ____ DAFT PUNK RULES!!!

  • C'mon guys, sampling is not a bad thing. The guy that made the video isn't dissing them, but trying to understand where they got samples from.

  • i think the first sample was also used in face to face

i just added some reverb to the sample and it was (almost) the same

  • @kackiz wich sample r u talking about ?

  • @alexisthemanandrock2 the one at 0:24

  • @kackiz maybe , its risky

  • daft punk are keeping the funk alive. and they've got to be the best at sampling tunes, the fact that they got the notes for voyager from oliver cheatham's get down saturday night is brilliant they sound nothin alike

  • All the best bands/song writers do this... That's music! You get ideas from other songs and build on it.

Are you gonna hate every single remix out there 'cause the guy didnt think about it first? Remixes are actually better than original songs (not all, but some, most)

  • cool vid. thanx 4 posting.

  • don't listen to this guy, first those songs are mostly wrong and some are right. but he is trying to take daft punk away from us.

it' speople like this that daft punk never got respect untill 2007.

    FUCK YOU ASSHOLE!!!!!!!1

  • dude just look at the album sleeve for samples information

  • is anyone else weirded out by the fact that there is someone out there going through a ton of music just to find out what samples DP uses and has used?....

  • I like daft punk but Da Funk, Digital love, Harder better fast stronger, crescendolls, and Robot rock sound exactly the same as there sample just sped up or down. that's just using other people ideas; especially digital love it should have been called a remix. One more time is an example of a good use of a sample I can recognize it but its still different.

  • I love that they sample stuff- it leads me to discover music I wouldn't always know about.

  • THEY ARE DJs!!!! DJs sample ALL the time!!!! That's their job lol Thats how they make music! God! Think people, THIIIIINK!

  • @lostchild06 Those are producers, DJs play the music.

  • @mantax55 No, DJs did it first, DJs can also prodruce their own music by sampling, and still do that

  • @lostchild06 put they could at least give credits and dont sell the songs telling the people they made the whole thing

  • @Dorlomir I know that...

  • Samples used are written in the album notes, otherwise it would be illegal. DP have always used samples of artists they say inspired them in the first place, which is also why they thank them in a special thanks section in the album notes. They use samples in a creative way which is why people still love them and they return the favour by letting people sample them. There's 100 of these videos and they've yet to make a point

  • @Psychoplasm They havnt given credit to all people they've sampled

  • good work...

    greets from Frankfurt, Germany...

  • REEE...LEASE!

  • 2:37 fail album artwork!

  • I'm surprised Prince didn't sue 'em lol

  • Now do the Avalanches! lol

  • I just wish people would get over this whole sampling thing. it's not stealing. I for one am a big fan of samples especially in Hip Hop.

  • Of course they sample other musicians. So did J Dilla. That doesn't lessen their creative genius.

  • i really really hate remixing and stuff like that... so why the hell do i like Daft Punk so mutch?

  • Daft Punk is the BEST

  • i still love em,they made this music wayyy more better :P IMO!!

  • dang...that's like the Discovery album in a nutshell! and about Voyager, i didn't know that was replicated,GEEZ!!!!

  • Great Vid... this video isn't puting Daft Punk down... It just shows the creativity of how they make a baseline and run with it using iteresting mixes by sampling. They're DJ's that what DJ's do..... Great stuff....

  • Wow they listen to some good music...

  • I think "Ryn'O - Gigolo" and Daft Punk's "Derezzed" share striking similarities.

  • CMON THIS CAN BE SAMPLED BUT THEY ROCK (POP)

  • 2:33 DERP

  • I wonder from where they got the samples to create the music of TRON : Legacy ..... I watched the movie just because the sound was just EPIC and of course the graphics.

  • who cares they made the same samples there still r awsome

  • 2:38 FAIL!

  • They are DJs, DJs sample.

  • Man... some of those linked songs seemed really far off.

  • well done! but daft punk rules anyway :D

  • Do Veridis Quo and Short Circuit really contain samples? They sound so much like pure synthesizer/midi music to me. Short Circuit sounds like it could have come from a DOS game or something.

  • In your opinion, why do you think they never gave credit to tavares for High Life, The Imperials for Crescendolls and Eddie Johns for One More Time on the official Discovery track listing? Bangalter denied it several times but it's been proven over and over (on youtube) that they were in fact sampled. I appreciate you input on this.

  • Everybody they are considerded dj's that's why they use all of these different songs they just make them better

  • Like a Madonna: "Hung Up" contains a sample of the pop group ABBA's hit single "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!

Any way the work of this guys is cool and great =D i will be daFANk 4ever!

  • soo... I have to listen all Rose Royce discography to know exactly which song did Daft Punk sampled? hahahaha!

    Seriusly, GREAT WORK BRO!! :)

  • Some of them are pretty evident like the George Duke one, Edwin Birdsong's, The Imperial's one, the song from Barry Manilow and the one from Breakwater, but the others are really forced, they don't even sound the same...

Also i don't get what's wrong about them sampling music. They are DJs, that's what DJs do. Remixing. It's like the warning i remember written on the tickets at a Prodigy concert i went years ago. It said "some of the music may be sampled". A friend said: NO! REALLY? XD

  • wow!!! so Daft Punk PLAYS music because they damn sure didnt CREATE these tunes. wow. what fakes!!!

  • @RikAmmo

    They're DJ's.

Most DJs take samples from other songs and remix or manipulate them in some way. That's what DJs do. Welcome to life.

  • @RikAmmo fuck you daft punk rules anyway

  • Face it. Their record collection is greater that yours.

  • they didnt get samples from anyone!! They invented their songs and other people Rip them off all the time -.-

  • the sample on the cerrone tune is near the begining, but only on the full version which is nearly 10mins long!!

  • Comment removed

  • i dont wanna be racist ...but almost samples... are of black people.. lol

  • well... they're dj's, other dj's also takes samples for older songs and remix it...

  • To get things straight, a good half of these samples most likely INFLUENCED these songs. I bet you if you went to Virgin Records or Daft Punk or their publishers, they could tell you 3 or 6 of these are not samples of Daft Punk, although some of them are good music, though. Impressive try though!
