  • Thanks. I was a 2818 "Tactical Office Machine Repairman"1973-1977

I bounced all over Okinawa, because I did not have the "Fixed Plant" Mod 28 Teletype Machine and KG-13 "Pontus" training at the time. I was at Camp Schwab in 1975. I do remember the communications center with I believe two Mod 28's over a Microwave Net. Thank God I did not have to repair it.

Great peacetime experience (I was not there) for a young man; however, I don't miss it much.

These are the days. Thank you sir.

  • Sweet memories. That looks like your at the top of the hill near the USO. I was at the bottom by the Base Theatre back in 1979 with Fox Co, 2/4. I loved Okinawa. Miss it so much.

  • C 1/9 weapons. 1987 camp horno

  • That definitely is the former HQ I used to get stuck with duty runner, hand carrying messages up the hill to Regt. HQ The smaller building next door was our S-2 shop, the S&C shop and the guard room.

  • @0321USMC Hey, I was there to in 1979 with F Co. 2/4 right by the Base Theatre. I use to love the Yakisoba at the USO at the top of the hill. Miss those days somuch. When were you there?

    Semper Fi!

  • @ChowHallCommando I was there as a Corpsman in !979 and I also remember the USO have excellent Yakasoba. Camp Schwab was a beautiful base. I ate at the 1st Tracks Chow Hall or sometimes at 3/9.

  • @yorkva Wow! We probably crossed paths. I had a lot of buddies in Tracks there in 79'. I was always visiting their barracks. Did you go to Fuji with BLT 2/4? W had a bad fire with lotrs of casualties there. That was in Oct. of 79'. Pleased to meet you Doc. I'm Tony Cevallos

  • I served with H&S Co. 1/9(106rr Plt and S-2 Scout) from April 1973-Feb 1974. That does look like the Bn. HQ building but the new barracks across the street sort of change the view. We used to have D 1/9 across the street in the old one story barracks. Sig Schulz, wyreconmarine@yahoo.com
