None. They weren't planning on making only a specific amount of episodes. And if you thought Moriarty's death (if he's even dead) would be a problem, you clearly have never read Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's works.

Whenever sherlock and Moriarty plummeted to their deaths from the balcony, i literally screamed "NOOOOO WHAT THE CRAP IT CAN'T END THIS WAY!!!!!!! @MultiChristo123 I believe the way Doyle had resurrected Holmes is that he had grabbed onto something as he was falling (Maybe a branch or a pipe). I wouldn't find it hard for there to be something down there as they were falling. Besides, I'd assume the one reason they had that ending is due to the fact that, with Moriarty as the villain, they wanted to put in the ending to "The Final Problem". They'll show how he survived in the third movie though. They have too.
