  • There needs to be a radio station for medieval court dances

  • Used for the opening scene of Ken Russell's film "The Devils".

  • That first Bouree was used as the bridge in the Fifth Estate's hit version of Ding Dong, The Witch Is Dead.

  • Big Michel P. drops the hammer: Hypnotic melodies pulsing with juice, bear-trap counterpoint. Fresh, frisky, enthralling.

  • dansons, dansons toutes et tous. Merci.

  • nothing in the world is more joyful than that bourree. adore, adore, adore. i could listen to it endlessly.

  • what a pity that we dont have information of portuguese music in that time... its because when I hear this it came images of portugal empire in medieval times dont know why, my mind always associated with portugal, maybe because its very similar sound with some portuguese instruments.

  • anyone for a galliard?

  • No, the 2nd tune is Volte CCX. Originally a compound of two pieces, but both by Vincenzo Galilei (1584). But a real superhit at these times, which became so popular, that the music can even be found in Austrian folk-dances ! For other versions see under: Vincenzo Galilei, Suite resp. Saltarello, also under William Byrd, La Volta. (Fitzwilliam virginal Book #158)

  • This is my favorite tune from Praetorius' Terpsichore.

  • same here! :)
