As an Indian, I think India does need aid. However, one shouldnt tie aid with business deals. The DFID creates a negative publicity about India's poverty overseas, gives 280 million in aid, and then tries to use it to bribe its way into a defence deal. They are both different and should be kept seperate. If they cant, then stop the aid. India has already refused it and was forced to take it to avoid political embarrasement to the ruling party in the UK. Amusing is what it is.
