The average women wants to drive "green" and if you ask them, why they bought there Toyota, they will tell you that! Toyota only made it big because of there fuel savers. You fake Americans say that you had shity American cars, but you didn't...and if you did, they were old and beat up. Half the people that buy toyota, buy them to be green...and thats it!
lets hate toyota for making the number 1 rated cars. american cars barly last over 100,000 miles. my friends tacoma has 182,000 miles and runs like its brand new. my avalon has 143,000 miles and runs perfect too. i have never had anthing wrong with it
The Dept. of Transportation is blowing this way out of proportion because they are part of the government and the government now owns the US car companies, so all the bad publicity benefits govt. run car companies which is not part of a capitalistic system.
The metal plate is to shield the hall effect sensor from electromagnetic interference. Electronic problem. Magnetic pulse from cell phone or road sensor will cause full throttle effect.
For usa it's "Desparate Times Call For Desparate Measures"...by Economic State Sponsored Against Toyota. Obama and usa are weak, morally and fiancially broke, pathetic criminals.
Something that is being completely overlooked is THAT CHRYSLER ALSO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM that has been happening for years. I have two videos on it and was just contacted by someone in a newer Dodge RAM that accelerated full throttle on its own and crashed into a pole. Chrysler won't even investigate the issue!
Off topic, but did you yanks hear about your fellow pedophiles yankee wankers getting caught trying to traffic innocent children out of Haiti. Shame on all you yanks. Bet you like make child porno with these kids for all you sick americans. And when your done you killem and in the dumpster. SICKOS
the toyota were the best cars in the world before they moved production to europe from japan, thats when it all went wrong. Europeans dont work as hard nor are as precise as the japs are.the japs live to work the rest of us work to live.
The only thing Toyota is guilty of is allowing their cars to be made here in America. That transportation dude Lahood is a total government dumbass for making statements telling people to leave their cars home till the gas pedal is fixed. Now he is retracting what he said. I will never buy an American car because they are crap. Never.
All that happens in the US is that parts are assembled precisely according to JAPANESE engineering specs. The rest of the car the auto workers never see. So it's defective Japanese engineering and greedy corner cutting at fault, not the fault of "lazy auto workers". Where's the standard ecm to cut off the gas when brakes are applied? Corner cutting. Why do the frames on Toyotas rot away? Because they made them with inferior metal to save money at expense of their customers
Last 3 years Toyota has had more recalls, defects, injuries and deaths because of faulty vehicles than GM, Ford and Chrysler's five years claims combined. Toyota doesn't desperately tries to hide statistics like that which would be publicized like in the US. Typical for them, the Japanese are killing 1000 whales a year in whale sancturies against the wishes of world governments-they call it "research" while their govt subsidizes it and Japanese yakuza sell mercury laced whale meat to schoolkids.
"Obama is a huge disappointment, he is not qualified to handle the job. He should do the right thing and resign. If not he should be impeached immediately so we can get America back on track."
Why is that only Toyota is being surrounded and criticized? I mean, the parts that is the main cause of this was made by a fuckin American manufacturing company, right? We have to consider which factory made the fuckin parts. Also who benefits by
lowering the Toyota's image? GOVERNMENT CAR COMPANTY GM or some other Korean cars or something.
My 1984 dodge caravan never haded this Sticky Pedals problem and it's still running strong. People buy American cars. The Japs are just doing this to kill us, becouse we bomb them.
Electronically, ESD is the easiest thing to be blamed. When I drove a rental Corolla, I felt a discharge every time I touched the door when I got out of the car. Never experienced this when I drive other cars, including Ford, GM, Nissan, and many others.
the japanese company that makes the gas pedal used in japanese made toyota uses a metal bolt assembly while the american company that makes the gas pedal used in american made toyotas uses plastic parts.
japanese toyotas don't have a gas pedal problem, and thus no recall needed.
to fix the problem, they are issuing small stainless steel adhesive backed stickers to car dealers to make sure the plastic parts of the gas pedal don't stick together
It's the defective eletronic module not the gas pedal. It's controlled electronically and it sticks to the floor and kills people. In other word's Toyota is guilty for cutting corners and for a defective product.
Now I have 2004 P71 Crown Vic. The only car that is OK and had not fix anything yet (so far) is P71 but then again year later and all my doors are full of rust. Very typical for American car. If P71 doesn't get me to 200,000 miles without crap breaking off this would be it for Ford. I always though that American cars are shit but cheap and easy to fix. I have too many other things to do now than to fix cars.
I had lot's of Ford "products" in my life Ford Fairmont (mainly rust killed it), 87 mustang (trans + oil leaks), 96 Aerostar (work truck, constant engine light=lot's of mechanic hours), 92 Taurus (Oil leaks big time, AC ) and friends Tempo that I had to constantly fix i.e. motor mounts, shocks, oil leaks AC).
This whole "recall" is stupid. People. If you're floor mat is holding down your gas pedal. Four easy options, that do not require Toyota or the government to be involved: 1) Buy a new damn floor mat, 2) cut the top of your current ("defective") floor mat off, 3) Go without a floor mat or 4) the easiest option avialable, pull your floor mat back a bit. GASP! Yes it works!
I have P71 Crown Vic that explodes if hit from the back. I think there is a "rod" that pushes into a tank. Ford fixed it by 2005 but a lot of police officers lost their lives or live with permanent skin burns. I buy best bang for my buck regardless of country of origin. Viva capitalism. biatch.
Toyota has been having this problem for at least three months if not more, now they are coming up with a fix now , they should of came up with one long before now Toyota really dragged their ass on this one, they cut corners on their production of theie vehicles, like any other big corporation they are in it for the money! BUY AMERICAN!!!!!!!
Hahaha. Buy american? American made cars mean you get half ass parts, cheap ass material, engines that will last you five years. No thank you.
And the reason Toyota "dragged ass" on this is because it's a non-issue. It's a floormat. Which if the owner of the car was practicing any due diligence, would not amount to a problem at all.
What makes you think american car corporations aren't "in it for the money"? If anything they'll screw you over faster on quality, any day of the week.
Well you obviously take care of your cars. Wouldn't expect much less from a man with your name ;) It's beyond the point though. The american consumer has told the american car companies to shove it. Well at least GM. haha.
No offense to your intelligence or the person your trying to make fun off...
Where do you think Toyota's in North America are made? You think their part suppliers are completely different and not associated with the likes of GM and Ford?
In that car that killed the officer and his family - above 45 mph it wasn't even possible for him to shift in neutral to save himself. The transmission on those cars electronically locks you out at that speed. The accelerator stuck because of a faulty ecu or ecm and it became a death trap.
American autos have NEVER been any good. Show me one that has. Time and time again, the foreign companies show us they're willing to give up a bit of their product for quality and longetivity. Even being local, american made cars, and their parts, will not save you a penny in the long run. Which is completely opposite of what it should be to buy a product made in your own country. What's the point of buying local if it's more expensive and of less quality than a foreign made auto?
You and dragoncroak sound like Japanese shills making excuses. Japan always cut corners on their crap cars & insult their customers. Keep it up i hope you go bankrupt. Why isn't there the standard ecm on toyotas to cut off the gas when the brake pedal is pressed? I junked a mazda because of always replacing overpriced parts and the interior was made out of cardboard. A lady I know had a toyota which almost killed her twice. Those cars have sludge problems inferior quality frames, you name it.
RE Striker4928 I dont have to make excuses. American consumers have spoken with their wallets as in capitalistic country they can and should. I buy best bang for my buck. If Japanese cars suck as you say, they will go out of business. As you can see American car makers are going out of business because they SUCK. I vote with my wallet and like me others have spoken. So shove your BUY AMERICAN commie comments and remember you live in capitalism and as such it cares less for nationalism.
They ARE going out of business. Toyota stock is plunging. They could hide their corner cutting and shoddy products before now they can't. Japanese use the same lowlife deception on the world when their yakuza are killing whales for "research" against the wishes of the world. Japs are going to have to stop being commie facists and think about helping the world community instead of their kamikaze worship your facist masters bs.
maybe this is why toyota is the largest car maker in the world.profits of nearly 2 billion in last three months of 2009...not bad for the worst year ever
Ford has not gone out of business have they. And they are an American company, also have not received any bail out money and continue to strengthen. I will buy a Ford looong before I'll buy from Toyota, Kia or Hyundai
GM & Dodge's biggest mistake was focusing to much on the truck market, I own two Chev 4x4's. Both trucks are plow trucks, worked hard since the day they were new and continue to make me lot's of money each year and cost me very little down time. And they were NOT made by the Japs
to fix the problem toyota has to have its accelerators made in japan
