by bitting on the chin side of the head, the tiger eliminates the possibility of getting speared by the horns; that is not done by accident; this animal is highly strategic when it hunts; if you or I miss dinner we can make up for it easily later; if a tiger misses, it may mean the difference between living and starving to death; and their offspring; thats a lot of daily stress on these animals; amazing!

tigers carry more fat than lions. look at the tigers under belly when it walk. the fat hang like loose garment. Lions are pure muscle and can weigh as much as a tiger. I've heard of lions getting over 900lbs. Its not common but it happens. Lions in the wild are known to get over 600lbs. Pure MUSCLE. Avg. for male lion 480-560

@kswampboi wrong. both african lion and bengal tiger have less than 5% body fat. and if any of them two is pure muscles, then obviously the tiger. its scientific proven that the tiger has larger muscles than the lion. just look at the frontlimbs. an average bengal tiger is around 50 kg heavier than a average african lion (both male), coz the tiger is bigger and has larger muscles.

the Monkeys ,,, I was in Marine Corps jungle training in the Philippines 1979-1980 and I noticed this too ,,, the monkeys became nervous when something moved in the jungle and or was not right ,,, if you listen to the jungle you can get a good idea of what is going on,, It took a long time to figure out how to move among them without setting them off .Not to tip off your position. It took a tremendous effort.

If you can read I said where my PERSONAL experience came from, Oh and you don't think there aren't predators in the Philippines? guess again! And how much rain forest jungle training do you have? I was even taught by the Filipino Marines how to catch Tigers. Rock Marines in Korea more jungle trianing and some further training in cold weather in Japan,, Mt Fuji. So I think you can tell I have been through most of South East Asia.

@James1toknow i grew up in the forests of south indian state of kerala. i haven't been to philippines but from what i heard the only natural predator of the mokeys there are eagles

@tjohn1986 ,, Yeah not anything anymore But at one time there used to be Tigers all throughout South East Asia and if you do some reasearch you will find that there used to many different Tiger species and alot have been driven into extintion. There were even Tiger found on Islands that have no large land mass for miles. They have this bear there it like a panda and mostly snakes and big bugs.

Its common knowledge that tigers are the biggest cats on the planet, the largest of the tigers are the siberians which is like the subspecies they can weigh as much as 800lb or more and have even been known to attack and kill male adult brown bears.

It's a myth that tigers weigh over 800 pounds, there has only been very very rare cases of a tiger weighing over 800 pounds. the biggest tigerin the wild was 900 pounds, but siberian usually weigh around 600 pounds and grow to 11 feet.

Only by a very "broad" definition of a big cat. They can't roar and that is one of several reasons they aren't considered true big cats by others. Same goes for cougars. Still wonderful creatures though.

just watch a video on Siberian Tiger, you will know for your self...just FYI the grow upto 13ft....its the biggest living cat on Earth....much bigger than an Lion

..that`s completely untrue. no wild, or even captive specimen has ever reached such dimensions as stated on that documentary. the longest on record was a bit over 11 ft, accurately verified. in recent documentation by scientists, these big cats averaged 176 kg. they are no larger than lions.
