I've heard planets, like Jupiter, create electromagnetic waves that translate to soundscapes very reminiscent of ambient music. Each planet produces different melodies and they've been doing it for billions of years. This is cosmic music, it is music that any intelligent being in the universe can understand. Its being played in space right now, for anyone with the right instruments to listen to. The cosmos is filled with beauty, most of it hidden. I wonder, for who is this universe really for?

I agree; this very much is "cosmic music".

Though, could it be the case that this universe isn't really "for" anything or anyone?

It could simply be the unfolding of time and space, for no real "purpose" other than its own existance.

But if there is a kind of "music" hidden in it all, I do also wonder why.

Though, it also may only seem like music because of the interpretations we place upon it.

Perhaps we'll never truly know...

@Sindridge Yes, this type of music pulls us in. It's an aid to deep contemplation and meditation. Bliss, silence, timelessness, joy...this music reminds us who we really are at the deepest level of being. Somafm.com's Drone Zone is a godsend to me. I also create the likes of Steve Roach, Vidna Obmana, Rapoon, Brian Eno music stations on Pandora.com. Take care, inner space fan!

@TheOriginalEntz It's not about the puritanical society, it's about not being arrogant in ways that you can't support with rational thought. If you can make anyone shut up on a subject or field, sure go ahead boast about it, but listening to a kind of music doesn't in itself at all make you exceptional or special. I just hate posers, "musical non-comformist wannabes" that's all.

@Sindridge Amongst the spouted words of a possibly enlightened mind you will find certain truths which are not absolute.. you will interpret them as you will and it will be your own personal truth, and it will travel with you on earth and in the realm of imagination.

Divine we all are, but with no need for god, all we have to do is release our minds from terrible presumptions and let ourselves wonder. That is the very spirit of ambient.
