The fact of the matter is that most police officers aren't hired for thier brains but, for thier ability to follow protocol, whether it is correct, moral or legally right. You do a job, guts, yeah, I guess. I'd say a miner has more balls than a cop. They get paid less for what they do and they don't have attitude.

haha...still, the Supreme Court's giving the police way too much power with the whole ID policy. The Patriot Act is taking away even more of people privacy. I believe that those rights that we all have should be respected. But I understand that the police do have a tough job, and this law helps them do their job easier and helps protect society in many ways.

They say "It's a tough job!" but the last time I checked nobody is forcing them to do it. Does this excuse poor behavior or give the right to usurp the rights of public? It definitely does not. If you don't like the pressures of your job and it causes you to act out inappropriately or affect your performance, then QUIT. In Nevada, it is a crime to fail to identify yourself to the police if they are investigating a possible crime. In this case, the sheriff's office received a credible 911 call that Hiibel was involved in a domestic violence situation. If you don't like the law, get elected to the legislature and change it.
