First it;s true, after 1 hour listening You can feel heat, but like I say ealier, this wont damage my unit. Second is also true, Sony don't have "loudness", Sony have "DM+" :D, it's work that same, volume up low and hi frequency. For bass control You can use 3-band equalizer, low filter or subout voleme control, so You have even more ;)
I am planning on getting Sony's latest head unit. I hear a lot of crap about Sony though. Is your head unit still working fine? Would you call it crap? I have no idea why everyone hates Sony.
it's my third Sony unit :) First have 4 years and still working great, 929 also. I dont call it crap, but in sound quality Pionneer's are better. Sony looks good, plays good, price is low. For average young user it's best choice. Personal, I recommend 929. Sorry for my anglish ;)

It has option to choice panel angle in 3 positions. You have just hold the eject button. Sorry for my anglish ;)
