  • sounds like its from a disney movie, i don't know which one though

  • I wish I was at this concert, They play the Planets perfictly :))

  • This piece reminds me of the trembling, fragile, elegant, aching, yearning, incomplete, deep, gentle and forever precious thing Love is.

  • wow... i think holst messed up his mythology... Venus, or Aphrodite didn't exactly bring peace... it was her fault that the Trojan War got started...

  • @Musicownz1997 he didnt write "The Planets" for mythology, he did it to provooke thoughts of the planets.

  • @plane15man yeah but all the pieces have somethin to do with mythology. like mars, it's a war piece and mars is the war god. and saturn the bringer of old age because Saturn/Kronos was the lord of time.

  • @Musicownz1997

As far as astrology is concerned, Holst was right to subname this piece "the bringer of peace".

  • @Musicownz1997 But Neptune was a sea god, not a "mystic," and Uranus was a sky god and not particularly a "magician." So sue him.

  • that screen shoing powerpoint slides was unnecessary

  • @maiabh i completely agree. nobody's gonna pay attention to the powerpoint... like music's for the ears not the eyes.

  • The only thing that ticked me off about this was the people coughing and sneezing through out it. I know it's involuntary, but please pay your respects to something this beautiful!

  • WHOA They SUCK! 0:13

  • I have always loved and greatly appreciated the work of Gustav Holtz, a really unique and original composer of its kind. Loved especially orchestral suite "The Planets". Among my favorite pieces in this suite : Venus the Bringer of Peace, Saturn the Bringer of Old Age, Jupiter the Bringer of Jollity, Neptune the Mystic and finally Mars the Bringer of War in which we can note a certain influence of Wagner. Absolutely fantastic. What a performance! Bravo!

  • Holst is amazing!!!!!!
