hello per...this is the first time that i've heard this piece by weiss, and i really do enjoy it (and your performance of it!). it sounds surprisingly modern to me...do you agree? and i love the guitar! now you need to post your other piece by weiss!
This is from Lute Suite no.23 isn't it? It's beautiful. I just bought your transcription of BWV 996 (prelude), and now I really want this one! I wonder how different it sounds on the regular classical though?
Sitter på tåget hem från jobb och lyssnar på din inspelning. Helt otroligt spelat, frasering, ton, atmosfären, agogik, den djupa klangen i gitarren Otroligt bra spelat. vill bara buga och tacka för en stor upplevelse.
I think the tone of this instrument is too thick for this music... as it takes up a great deal of space which is one of the great triumphs of Weiß's style and the instrument upon the sort of instrument upon which he would have played. This instrument also has a very slow attack with a long sustain. To my ears it would sound great in late romantic repertoire tuned at A-435 or so. That said: you're playing of it is a great joy to behold- as always. Many thanks!
Me olvide decirte que como the costumbre tocas (esta nueva guitarra) con tu alma y por eso interpretas a Weiss fantasticamente. Gracias por interpretar a Weiss como si tu fueras Weiss!
Here I was, looking for something humorous on Youtube, until I found this video. The beautiful and wonderful sounds from that guitar was perfect, elegant, and peaceful. My only wish is to hear something that beautiful in real life.
What an incredible instrument! And the perfect piece to showcase it. I'd really be pleased if you uploaded some more Weiss videos, perhaps to complement your Bach collection.
The resounding bass is magnificent! a well chosen piece to exhibit it's voice. many thanks, Per! was it difficult to assimilate the extra string, or easy?
Thank you! I am use to play an Alto guitar by Swedish luthier Georg Bolin for 15 years so I am used to more than 6 strings. But, yes, I needed some hours to learn to play this because it is bigger in length (680mm)
it it long ago that you posted this great piece. But I discovered it some days ago and spontaneaously order the score. Is it ok that I publish it in some weeks here with some changes with my 10string guitar?
I have uploaded it now. This 10 string guitar is hard to play for me because of the unusual (or nearly missing) orientation. So I have to look many times on the right hand (:-)
this is my favourite entree by Weiss, I listen it every day played by Robert Barto in his "Weiss lute sonata volume 6" your playing is really different with Barto's version but is a fantastic rendition.
Everything you play is incredibly soothing to the ear. I love your skill, I watch your hands and technique to improve my own. Thank You for doing these videos, they offer a measure of sanity and tranquility!
As a luthier, lover of the guitar and struggling player, I think this is one of the loveliest pieces played by you. I do so enjoy listening to and watching you play. Thank you.

I have started learning the guitar only a few weeks back. I just hapened to see your videos today. I think I now know what direction my playing should take !!!! Even if I get to within a hundredth of your playing I will be very happy :-) Are there any tips you might have to develop this style of playing??

How do you finger pick strings so easily??? Any Advice?
jfar8504 2 years ago
lol simple... learn the proper classical technique and practice... if ur used to play with a pick, u will have to be patient getting used to it
NonEternal 2 years ago
Hi. Well, as said. it's a matter of practice and using sheet music with fingerings... and I had some good teachers too.

I have started learning the guitar only a few weeks back. I just hapened to see your videos today. I think I now know what direction my playing should take !!!! Even if I get to within a hundredth of your playing I will be very happy :-) Are there any tips you might have to develop this style of playing??

Hi! Welcome to the club. :) I hope you will take the time to learn how to read music. TAB is very limited if you really want to be good at playing and understand music.
Keep it up!! it's the best ever!!
