If there wasn't room for morality, there wouldn't be a need for any match officials because nearly every foul in every sport has aspects of morality. Henry handballed because he is a cheating cunt. But also because it's pure instinct. There should be a replay because the match wasn't drawn fairly and before the time of the goal, it was a draw. I wouldn't expect you to understand because the USA had to qualify against complete jokes with the exception of the now shit, Mexico.

There is a difference between formation of rules and enforcing of rules. I'm debating the enforcement of rules should be left to the competitive nature of the players. If you get away with murder, then thats part of the game... leave it upto refs to call it out. You can't all be Ned Flanders on the field or you will never have fun watching or playing any sport.

There shouldn't be a rematch. If you start having re-mactches for every game in which the referee makes a big mistakes that changes the result of a game, where will it end? For example, 3 weeks ago in the German League there was a game between 1.FC Nürnberg and Mainz 05. Mainz had a 1-0 lead, when Nürnberg scored a goal in the 88th minute. The goal was perfectly fine, but the refs said it was offside and so Nürnberg lost. Should there be a rematch for that?

As much as i agree that was a hand ball, I really don't think there should be reviews. This game has been played for centuries with how it's played now. With no review. I feel like putting a review in the middle of the game like that would wreck the game. Sure there are some good calls as well as bad calls, but that's what makes the game beautiful.

Thierry Henry did not cheat, he only commited a foul which the ref or linesman did not see. That's all it was, a simple foul missed by the officials. But the ENGLISH press love it because it gives them the excuse to bring up Maradona's " hand of god " goal against them all those years ago. If the boot was on the other foot and it was an irish player who had handled and the ref never saw it i would feel the same, it was a foul not seen by the officials, plain and simple.

there would never be a rematch however if henry is not dealt with by fifa for the foul as is their right under the rules due to the fact the referee claims he didn't see the incident then every footballer who is retrospectivly suspended for any offence can appeal that punishment.
